  • Vulcan S or Interceptor 650?

Hi xBhpians, how r u guys?

Well I am planning to buy a 650cc motorcycle. Price range is not an issue. I would like a comfortable seating with pillion comfort of importance. I would be riding mostly in the cities and very rare occasionally on highways. I took a test ride for Vulcan S, Versys 650, Interceptor 650 and newly launched Benelli Leoncino 500 as well.

Versys 650 is extremely comfortable and I loved riding it but the pillion seat height is of a bit concern as some oldie might get it difficult to hop on. Leoncino was also a great bike but pillion seat was too small.

Interceptor seats are also too narrow, but we can alter it according to our liking. Vulcan S was most comfortable for me as well as pillion.

So guys waiting for your inputs and suggestions, will be highly obliged .

If I had to choose one, I'd definitely go with Benelli Leoncino 500. Why b'coz to me it is by far the Best looking 500cc that one can buy in India. Also, build quality, fit and finish is better then other Benelli models. It is Fast, Sexy, Comfortable aur jeene ke liye kya chahiye?

I've heard horror stories about Benelli's A.S.S. And I definitely would think twice before investing in the brand.

As for Royal Enfield, the bike is pretty cheap for the power it offers. And experience is a hit or miss. You'd have to be a RE enthusiast or loyal brand fan to live peacefully. Interceptor 650 doesn't have many issues like the regular REs I suppose. Will be a good choice from a budget perspective. But INT650 is not a head turner if you are looking to grab some attention. CONTI650 does that job better. Rest everything same between both bikes.

Vulcan S has a league of its own. Coming from Kawasaki stable, it definitely boasts some solid reputation and excellent A.S.S and VFM. You cannot go wrong with Kawasaki. Far better build quality and comfort than RE.

You said the Vulcan was the best in terms of comfort for both rider and pillion, you've just answered your own query!

Vulcan is a no brainer. Japanese refinement and reliability.
Ground clearance is 130mm so need to be a bit careful over potholes and bumps.

              +1 for Vulcan.
              There is no competition.

If you have the budget and a Japanese comes in that budget, that's a no brainer.
The advantage is even more profound over an RE.

I have been living in the RE capital of the world for the past decade (Chandigarh, Punjab). And I don't care how good and reliable the new ones are they are lightyears behind the Japs. Moreover, if I were to spend that big an amount on something, I would like it to be reliable, vibe free, devoid of rust and rattles.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Since budget is not an issue, then why dont you look at Suzuki GSX-S750.
Both Vulcan and Versys 650 (and Ninja 650) have the same parallel twin engine. The state of tune is different. It's a tried and tested bullet proof engine.
I had the old N650 and it was an awesome ride except for missing ABS. Now even that is available.
Do not go for the RE twins as they are very new and RE is not known for reliability.
Since you like the way the Vulcan S rides, just go for it.
Check and see if you like any bike that has traction control along with ABS. Its a life saver especially during rains. Saved my ass today over a patch of slush.
