    3: RTR.
    NOW THE CHOICE IS YOURS.

thanx, I'll keep that in my mind...

Among these two I vote for FZ-16, go for it. FZ has good accln, top speed is less than 110kmph, touring- good but not excellent. Somewhat, logically your easiest choice must be FZ. Go and get it.
thats the kind of suggestion i was waiting for ... u pretty much think like me...

Brother I understand your dilemma.... so here is my suggestion...

the more you wait the more you will get confused....as companies would be coming with their new bike in this year as it is....

Now about your love to FZ, yeah it looks good and is neat and swift in city...but you need speed greater than 110kmph... and for touring right.... now let me ask you onething ....how many times are you gonna tour in a month? how many times are you gonna go above 80kmph in city? and what would be the primary purpose of your bike?

You may wait for Faxer, but dont know when it would be actually launched.... then again RTR 180 gonna come and then HH would definately come in with some new bikes...bajaj has already started with their new version..and so the list goes on and on....

so IMO go for the one which you like today and cherish it.... as no two bikes are comaprable and you cant get everything on a bike...
so think about it and take your decision man.... and then ride safe

          (Mileage doesn't matter to me.)

          My thoughts-
FZ-16 is a great bike but speedometer looks cluttered. And I've heard about its performance is great in streets and city but not on highway.
FZ-S has got better colour scheme and better looking speedometer. But don't you think its not as macho as FZ-16? It has a lil bit Indian styling with bright colours and small visor which lacks the real FZ character.
Apache is obviously more powerful than FZ and my frnd who owns a FZ told me that his bike loses out to Apache in drag race and on highway. But I've heard (and also read Owners experience here) that it has some reliability issues.
HH Hunk is a nice bike but frankly I don't like Hero Honda Bikes. I don't know why I hate them? I've rode Hunk once and found it too stiff (ride quality) and a bit bulky.
Last one, The Fazer 150 is looking good in the pics. I would love to own that bike. Yes, It has same features as FZ-16 with a quarter fairing. But I don't think Yamaha will launch this bike with the same speedo and colour schemes as FZ-16..

With a full eye set on the macho FZ, why are you thinking twice on your choice!
It has got all what you want....very very good pickup (though not excellent) and top speed above 110kmph.
And it is one of the very good city rider because of its massive class leading torque of 14nm...
Talking about occasional touring....FZ wont disappoint with, rest assured......(though there are better tourers available)

("Mileage doesn't matter to me.")- This is the first requirement to own an FZ...so you wont get disappointed...

There are faster and quicker bikes available in the market in the similar range as FZ, but nothing comes close to the macho street fighter looks, awesome engine, lovely plush ride the bike boasts off
and than there is always the YAMAHA name to trust....

          All the best....

          2005 - Pulsar 150 Dtsi (Still owned)

just a suggestion( friendly sense n no offense):

              dont waste crap money man,,,,,,,,

FZ-16 is quite good according to me.......
n now i have seen them with the windshield like the one in FZ-S
dont know if they come with em or u have to buy separately

              2k for paintwork is madness
and some 5k or may be 10 k or more for a fairing is again waste of money man
              instead buy good riding gears,,,,,,,,,
people like me who have fallen n had injuries know the importance of it

plan out a budget and buy everything in one go.... who knows u may not get another chance,,,,,,,
tell your dad its for ur security and he may let some more cash go,,,,

spend money wisely man,,,,,,,, recession is not yet over

              all that was general talk
if ur rich and arent affected by recession
go ahead and whatever u want
Hope is a good thing ,
may be the best of things and

                Ok dude...

                will go for it...

but there is no harm in waiting for the new bike...

The thing with me which is going against the Fz-16 is its Speedometer and its colour scheme. This bike offers 3 colours and most of the guys are going for the red one which is my favorite too. I don't wanna lost in the crowd like pulsars...

So I am thinking about the Fz-S and also waiting for the Fazer...
20th June is the date, Till then, I can wait...

Custom paints are always available. You wanna buy stock colored bike and wanna stay the only guy on the street with that scheme

Just a small advice: Dont forget to take a test ride for R15, if you havnt till now. It might change your decision. FZ-16 is a wonderful bike though!

custom paint!!! yeah thats a good idea...
                    thanx bro...

And i went to all the yamaha showrooms in my city to get the quotation of Fz-16, FZ-S and to inquire about new Fazer...
But the main reason was to Test ride R15...
simply superb but its a bit costly for my budget...

According your choices as good pickup i would say both apache and FZ16 are good, but in case of top speed Apache is far better than FZ16... even though FZ16 can reach the 110 mark...

                      Top speed,

                      1. How quickly you gona reach the top speed... in that case it's Apache, FZ is not so quick in attaining top speed(say frankly top speed is not so good for FZ)...

                      2. But at what ever speed you ride, the stability/handling/comfort/control... man-o-man it's FZ man... definitely FZ... that's y i bought FZ...

and touring i also prefer FZ than Apache... but power, mileage, throttle response is more good in Apache...

U take the test ride and decide... or wait for the new Apache RTR 180

Yes i've rode both of them, and found both of them quite similar...
and yes, apache is much faster than FZ because of 160cc engine...

One of my fellow X-Bhpian (Sarab_FI) recently had a tour to Pune on his RTR FI. Had a great trip, no hic-ups, ran the bike in the speed-band of 80~100 Kph for more than 2.5 hrs. Highway ride is awesome. Only pain is the ergonomics which hurt in traffic.

On the other hand, one of my friend owns FZ-16. Frankly, FZ-16, FZ-S and Fazer have the same engine, same ergonomics, which are nice for touring and city riding. But, after riding for a while, I started feeling bored. It lacks the punch that my RTRFI has. And if you are a music lover, you'll just love RTR FI's bass notes. It will make you forget your fatigue.

RTR 180 lacks THAT bass note. Otherwise, quick, flickable and little more refined than its siblings.
Haven't rode P180 UG4, or cud have helped you more to enlighten the differences. (But do Pulsars now liked to be bought???)

Those were the bikes' praises. Keep in mind that machine needs maintenance and this is the point which gets most less spotlight.
YAM engines are super-refined, reliable to much extent, but maintenance is on the expensive side.
On the other hand, I see TVS workshops getting involved in verbal quarrels sometimes.

I guess the reason of your hate towards HH is the missing aggression in their styling and performance.

Hope it wud have helped to enlighten some dark corners of purchasing a bike.
                          Yes....
