  • Should I buy a commuter or a dual purpose motorcycle?

So the thing is I am confused between buying the XPulse 200 and the Honda SP125 (BSVI).

I know its kind of unusual but, hear me out first.

My requirement is that I need to commute daily to my college and back which is around 25 kms everyday. And I'm currently using my Yamaha RX100 for that which has very low fuel efficiency (25 kmpl)

So I need a new bike for my daily commute.

Now if I decide to go for the SP125, I get 60kmpl and new BS-VI engine and other newer features as well. but mostly a very good mileage.
and if I go for the XPulse 200 I get around 40kmpl and a comfortable suspension and the capability to even go touring or on longer rides or even some offroading

But my brother already owns a Dominar 400 which I can borrow from him when I need to go long distances and now I'm confused if i should go for the SP125 or the XPulse?

And then there is one more option which is the honda Xblade which falls in between both the Xpulse and the SP125 but is neither better in mileage nor in offroad and touring capabilities BUT looks pretty great and is very stylish and modern.

Buy xblade it gives 45kmpl easily , it's smoother than xpulse, no headache due to tubeless tyres.

Get the Honda XBlade without a second thought.
Has a great engine and being a Honda, reliability will be top notch.

You could also consider Apache 160 4v, in almost the Xpulse's budget.

Since you have a dedicated touring option, getting a FE bike is a wise move.

Now, having owned a 2008 Honda Shine, I have only praises from my 10 yrs of ownership. I have taken it off road due to my industrial sales job, it being light and punchy felt at ease and FE is another plus point.

Xpulse isn't meant to go fast in the corners but it's quite capable off roader, in fact a fello rider with good experience Test rode it and had all praises for its comfort in off road, while not being too good on road at higher speeds which it takes a while to get to. Based on his feedback, upto 80kmph it's a good deal with off road capabilities but it's FE will be 40. As per his feedback, the suspension really shines and you won't feel potholes.

If you want something in the middle and stylish you have Xblade which shares the engine with Unicorn and is quite capable, reliable with good FE and since you're in college it has modern looks.

So if you want off road capabilities, go with Xpulse, there's nothing in the market in its pricing. Looks - Xblade and FE and comfort - SP125. Depends on your main objective behind the bike.

As always, do test ride your options before making up your mind.

Only con of xblade and Hornet is that they've stiffer suspension setup. After riding Hornet when i ride 220 it feels very comfortable.
