  • Help in choosing between RE Himalayan or Hero Xpulse

    Hello all,

Good day! I have been riding a FZ 25(first batch) for the last 2.5 years and have clocked 20k kms. The bike is ultra reliable and lives up-to the Japanese reputation. Of late I'm getting sore backs after riding my FZ 25 even in lesser traffic in same road conditions(read bad). I think it has to do with the slight front set riding position or the bike's rear suspension as I'm not getting any discomfort if I ride my dad's Hero Passion or my friend's Interceptor for the same duration in traffic. I'm 6"2 and weigh 83 kg and of late I find the riding posture of FZ not as relaxing as that of even the Passion or bikes from RE stable(barring the Continental GTs).

So I've been considering to change bikes and have drilled down to two choices that have best suspension setup and suited for tall riders. Those are the RE Himalayan(BS6 to be released in few weeks) and Xpulse. My main usage will be 80% traffic and 20% highway. Coming from the FZ 25, I just love the torque band and big bike feel of Himalayan as it suits my height but I'm yet to test ride the Xpulse. My cruising speeds are also just 80-90 and nothing beyond that. My budget cannot extend more than 2.3 lakhs. I'm sure many would've been on same boat as I am, hence I'm seeking suggestions/gyan from fellow members on which will suit my usage. Suggestions need not be pertaining to REH or Xpulse but other bikes/ideas are also most welcome.

Thanks for reading and thanks for your reply in advance!

    Cheers!

Xpulse is the right choice; <10K per year travel; 80% traffic (city ride). Xpulse is light weight compare to RE Himalayan therefore it will assist gliding through city traffic, potholes and on kuchha roads (bad roads)

      All the best!
Thanks for your reply mate! Yeah my work is sedentary. Though I get an hour or two of any physical activity almost daily, I sit in front of PC for long hours, both in the office and in home as well!

Thanks for your suggestion! I have few concerns with Xpulse, is the seat on the harder side and is that an issue? Is it comfortable for pillion?

I know I cannot have it all so just want to know so that I can choose my compromises.

      Cheers!
