Re: Bike suggestion for 200 km daily commute
so should I wait for settlement of BS6 launches ? or go ahead with BS4 clearance stuff now ?
as mostly new bikes are just getting upgrades to BS6 and literally not much difference in features in the 250-300cc segment, but surely the price high is steep in most and so is the discount currently on offer making it tempting.

I think you may go ahead with BS4 and negotiate for discounts.Originally posted by pseudofarji View Postso should I wait for settlement of BS6 launches ? or go ahead with BS4 clearance stuff now ?

There are very few bikes that have actually got a major overhaul in the BS4-BS6 transition. Eg: Apache 310 RR - got a major update. Others just have a cosmetic update.
Most BS6 bikes have got slightly heavier (bigger catalytic converter I guess), some slightly less powered and obviously more expensive.
CKD bikes haven't even got a BS6 compliant engine like R3 or Ninja 300. I dunno if you will be able to buy the CKD bikes after March 31 2020. Not sure.

Re: Bike suggestion for 200 km daily commute
I think you should seriously consider interceptor 650 if you are fine with 30 kmpl on the highway, let me tell you in points.
1. the bike has a fantastic engine which is vibe free and revv happy, there's enough power for overtakes and fun
2. the brakes are very good with a very sharp bite, brembo ones
3. The build quality is very good and bike is very solid, it will last till your grandkids. The bike is handsome did i tell you that?
4. The weight of the bike helps in highway rides as bike remains plated when big vehicles overtake you.
5. Special treatment is given at the service center for the 650 Twins
6. Service interval is 1 year or 10,000 kms and it costs 2500rs, which is cheaper considering it's 650 cc
7. I own the continental gt 650 for the last 7 months so i can vouch for all these points and there are many positive reviews globally as well.
8. Good fuel economy considering the power and the engine, i got 33 kmpl on highway trip, the best till date, normally on highways i get around 30 kmpl, speeds around 100-120. In city it's around 25 kmpl, the worst was 20kmpl in bumper to bumper conditions.
Olx is full of interceptors now, having mileage from 2000 kms to 10,000 kms, quoting prices 50,000₹ less than the showroom price, the conditions are brand new as it's a new bike, i think you should get a used one, even i regret buying a new one now. Noting happens to a bike in a year or 4-5k kms, the money you save will be used for fuel.Last edited by yashasvi; 03-05-2020, 04:46 AM.Peace

Look at this one, 5000 kms run, 6 months old, mint condition and already quoting 35,000₹ less than the current price, has some accessories too. If you bargain you can save 50k, that's a dealPeace
