  • Suggestion for Scrambler/Naked Bike /Motard bike of up-to 350 CC

    Hi,

I am looking at buying a Scrambler/Naked bike , "dual-sport" or "motard" kind of bike for a mix of mostly city riding and bit of countryside riding (not hardcore off-road). Engine Capacity up-to 350cc. Am not a speed freak, usually I ride between 40 to 50km per hr in the city and up-to 60km/hr on open highway, so would love to have an engine which has good pulling power even at low revs and easy to handle in busy bumper-to-bumper traffic.

If I am out on a weekend trip, maximum touring distance per day maybe up-to 200km. Am around 5 feet, 6 inches and riding comfort /lower back comfort is of utmost importance. Others important factor is low maintenance. Pillion rider is not an important aspect as only occasionally a 2nd person will be riding pillion. Mileage is not a big aspect for such large displacement bikes.

So far I have shortlisted KTM Duke 390, Kawasaki Z300, Honda Rebel 300, Yamaha MT 03 and am inclined towards the KTM Duke 390 owing to its CC/HP/weight ratios.

Am open to any other bike, not in my shortlist as well. Which bike will you recommend ?

I think what else would suit your riding requirements are below recommendations which are made for touring at those speeds that you require and would be good for off-road-ish adventures:

      RE Himalyan - good torque
Xpulse 200 - very good and soft suspension
      KTM Adventure 250/390 -

These are all Adventure touring bikes.

With the very sane speeds that you ride at, even a 150-160 cc would do the job (upto 60-65 kmph) like that good old Honda Unicorn. But the above bikes are dedicated to riding style off road.
