Buddy I am also 17 years old and I ride a TVS Apache RTR Refresh and have test rode the RTR 180 and I also having the same height you have and according to me apache is the most suitable for you should test drive the new rtr 180 its a damn awesome bike ,you may feel that the bike is bulky(heavy),never test drove the FZ,so cant comment on its performance, but its a light bike!
The only thing I like about is the Fat arse tire its has.
If you get the P220 then it may creaye some problem as it is tall bike!and it weighs 150 kgs,so may create problem! test drive the bikes!

For a Newbie(like me and you) Apache is the most suitable I think I have been riding RTR REFRESH from past 8 months and never faced any problem and gives a decent mileage, which will not be heavy on your pocket!

      Cheers
      Dhruv!

FZ is a breakthrough in the Indian biking scene.

FZ has seriousy caught my attention. This was one thing that I was waiting for many years. Another was a 2 cyl bike (sub 1 lakh)

coming to reality, I did TD it but on uneven patches and narrow lanes.

Can someone tell me how does it perform on flat Highways @ 100-110 kmph range?

Test drive the bikes. If you are considering pillion comfort, then dont go for fz.
But i think Fz is better than RTR interms of handling

hey ... who says pilion comfort on the FZ is bad ... I drop my mom to work everyday , she sits side saddle and hasn't said a word about being uncomfortable .
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Ok buddy little advice from my side......looking at your requirements i had go with
the FZ...as you said it would be used for college and small rides....it has the best handling in city....its lighter than other 150cc bikes...great comfort...and its very
forgiving to newbies....though test ride it before and go with what your heart says..

                          Booked my Fazer today!

                          Hi guys,

Thanks to the discussions going on here, I decided I am a "poser" with ~3kms (yes, three!) to ride to office everyday! So, went ahead and booked the Yamaha Fazer. [15 days waiting time!!] I did think about "The Fastest Indian", but, my friend's 200 DTS-i gives so many problems, and the fact that I had the first generation Pulsar 150 too, I decided that I'll "decide" between Yamaha or Honda only! [Have owned a Unicorn previously]. And, of course, Honda has decided to stick with the Unicorn for the next century or so!!

Now, a deluge of queries have inundated my mind! A few samples:
                          1. Is the Mototune USA "Break in Secret" any good? Or will it damage my bike? If I get a little extra performance out of my bike at the cost of a little mileage, its fine with me.
                          2. What all should I check/instruct before getting the delivery? [I have a feeling that this has been answered here on xBhp before!! ]
                          3. The OTR price quoted to me before was 83.3K, and when I went in for booking today, they said it'll cost me ~84.6K because of some Smartcard, and miscellaneous charges, etc! Can some one familiar with the laws and by-laws in Bangalore let me know whether they're trying to squeeze out the last penny from me??

Thanks! [Will post my reviews as soon as I get the bike! Or, add them to someone who starts the thread...]

                              Thanks bro!

                              One more question:
                              4. Since even the petrol tank is plastic on the exterior, is there any point in Teflon coating the bike? Shouldn't I just buy a wax polish and chain lube?
