For pillions GS will be more comfortable than uni in longer rides. My friends have both these bikes. Recently they went for a trip with CBZ xtreme, uni and GS . They found GS pllion seat is more comfortable of the three. For riders both GS and uni will give equal comfort. One will love the riding posture of GS compared to Uni as it is slightly rear set and has a linkage type gear shifter for smoother gear shifts. Also GS has got overdrive 6th gear and the engine will be less strained in highways.

I think, by this time you are in a dilemma to go for Unicorn or GS150. To clear that, lemme remind you the difference in service network between Suzuki and Honda.
As your friend needs to commute inter-city too, the Honda gains an edge here, even though both the bikes are better than each other in different aspects
From variable Bhps to a constant 17.6 Bhp.

Duhh...!!
The Classic CBZ, was THE Best!
+1 to that, Gladi is too good in citi's!!Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostThis might sound odd....but for me i found Gladi to be the comfiest till date. have'nt riden GS extensivley o comment on it. I sugget him to take a test ride before deciding
In hierarchy:Originally posted by sasen View PostA relative of mine landed a sales job requiring extensive travelling, both intercity and intracity. On an average he needs to travel around 100KMs a day involving 60% city riding and balance riding will be on highways. This will involve riding on expressways as well as riding on rough village terrain. With such long hours on saddle and riding on varied road conditions the first and foremost requirement is COMFORT. The suspension set up, the handlebar, footpeg alignment(For somebody who is 9'11"), ergonomics, and quality of the seat should be top notch to offer maximum comfort. The bike must offer comfortable ride to the rider as well as pillion too as a fair part of the riding will be with a pillion. The next deciding factor will be fuel efficiany and third will be power.
Budget is around 65K, and open to any suggestions starting from 125CC and above. Suggestions welcome.
Yamaha Gladiator!
Bajaj Discover!
Yamaha FZ / Fazer
CBZ Extreme or HH Hunk
Honda Uni
Suzuki GS 15 R

GS150R/Xtreme must do....
May have suggested Uni, but uni might not give you proper Knee recess for your height...me too beign 6ft felt it.
Xtreme and GS150R give you proper knee recess...ofcourse GS150R has edge over Xtreme with its 6th gear & refined engine.....rest all features on GS are that one needs to be lured.Last edited by riazmomin; 08-08-2009, 07:49 PM.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Considering the requirement and Budget, I would look at the Yamaha Gladiator SS with a regular handlebar (the SS & RS have 5 clutch plates as opposed to the other models that have 4 but the handlebar is a little low), the Hero Honda Acheiver (yes, it is still sold in rural areas). GS150 R is a good choice but I don't think it can be bought for 65K! and also gotta check if Suzuki service center is available nearby!

The GS got a more composed and relaxing ride for pillion than uni and its refinement and 6box shift is just amazing. The opinion is based on my personal experience. As long as you don't go for traffic light GP's or performance runs(even that could be done with a smile
) and if don't have big pocket for bigger guys like P220 or Zma its a better deal in 150cc commuters

The GS is the bestin the comfort category...the Uni comes second....
As many hav said..the Uni has proved itself....one of the most refined engines and slick gear box....
the GS has also the same things....and for long travels both are too good....
I have ridden both the bikes extensively...and of course my Pulsar..too...
Also as experts pointed out...look out for service centres for easy access....
do not want to be stuck in a highway....with a cut clutchwire....
I recommend....GS first and Uni second.....

To that problem, cut off Both Honda & Suzuki. Honda Service Centers are the most arrogant and pathetic of the lot to get anything done. They don't have many of them either. Suzuki does not have even as many SC's as Honda but I just hope they do a better job than the Honda guys with the spares & service.Originally posted by Guru_007 View PostAlso as experts pointed out...look out for service centres for easy access....

Suzuki get's most of their spares made with the same suppliers who make them for Maruti Suzuki. Also, there is a Maruti showroom &/or service center in almost every small town. Suzuki is giving motorcycle dealerships to those existing Maruthi showroom people at many places. Whether you are aware or not, many places have got a Suzuki motorcycle showroom & service center already... check your nearest town now.
I still suggest you to look at the Hero Honda Acheiver... or Yamaha Gladiator that'd meet all the requirements including the price and mileage. The Gladi has a good soft seat, light clutch, big bike feel and very good handling.

yeah honda and suzuki service centres are almost similar in one way or the other ....
which is really a sad state ... which is completely not justified to these two just wonderful bikes
