Oh really?! I always thought the ZMA was stable in all aspects when it comes to cross-winds
.... and I took the road less traveled!

Only issue is its life span(bajaj bikes are not so famous as long termers) but as u intend to keep only for 3 years then it has to be the P220, you'll enjoy each and every part of biking to the max, be it touring, commuting or dragging at red lights..

        +1 to that.

        Go for the 220 mate!

@Thread starter: Im not gonna advise against or in favour of purchasing any of the bikes in your list for reasons that don't deserve a mention here.

The only clarification id like to make here is that the Zma's fairing doesn't rattle until you take a spill. The P220's fairing however is a known bugbear as concerns rattles. Every P220 needs a double-tape session to dampen the rattles. But that said, the projector lamps on the 220 are the best in any class of motorcycle, currently in production (In India ). Hence the 220 makes up for several of its shortcomings with a gem of a headlamp.

And as far as Zma spares are concerned, they are decidedly expensive but there are a bevy of alternatives to consumables such as the front brake-pads etc.

Lastly, id like to point out that replacing the engine guard with a crash guard from a CBZ-X costs roughly 600 bucks and saves both the riders leg and the fairing from damage. So, it would be unwise to discount the HH for fear of damaging plastics/age. The very fact that the Zma's has been around for 6 years should comfort one as there aren't any teething issue that come with a brand new entrant.

All the above points aren't speculation/opinion/flame-bait. They are verifiable facts and hence i wouldn't be justifying any of them with links or the such. Please feel free to explore the forum for any clarifications. The respective 'Ownership threads' exist for all the vehicles you've shortlisted.

Good luck with your hunt for a ride

          Cheers !

Wanna clear some misconceptions some people have.

Karizma's fairing will not rattle until you break it. Even if you break, it will not rattle on smooth surfaces. It rattles only on potholes.

All the people talk about costly spares of Zma with a fall. The case of P220 is same if you have a head-on collision. The projector lamps cost more than a Zma's headlight housing. The cost of reconstruction of front is almost same for both Zma and P220.

If you skid on Zma, it always will not damage the entire fairing. Only side will take the brunt. A right cowl or left cowl would cost only 1200 bucks.

As for the disc pads, there are good alternatives. I am using ASK CBZ disc pads which are very very effective and priced only 100 bucks.

Also, Karizma is more prone to cross winds when compared to a P220. The crosswinds definitely affects the Karizma, but not to an extent that the bike is thrown off the road or line. If you are a bit alert, you can manage it easily.

Moeed: the spares of similar bikes are almost same (read P220, karizma). Unless you have head-on collision, there will not be much damage for a Zma. If you have a head-on collision a P220 also puts a big hole in your pocket. Also, do not expect spares of higher cc bikes to be same as your Platina. If somebody wants to buy a P220 or Zma, they should be able to spend for a fall too.

                  Honestly, my tuppence:

                  a. Your requirement is absolutely unique - just like the rest of us. No really - while i appreciate the detail, there's little value most will add.
                  b. +1 to ravi - thanks for busting that myth.
                  c. The bikes are all reliable, all pretty good etc etc [insert positive adjective here]. We can all recommend our fave bikes till we're blue in the face BUT ....

.. I'd much rather that you take a test ride. You CANT go wrong with any of the three you've decided. Many more posts on this thread will not influence you as much as a ride will. Take the bike that makes your heart beat a bit faster. THAT matters. Mileage etc is good but not half as significant as the smile on your face after a ride!
