  • HH ZMA or the TVS RTR 180?

hello xbhpians I booked an yellow zma in chennai and it is going to be almost 2 months since I booked it and I haven't got my zma delivered yet. I recently got a call from the showroom guys and they said that they have got 2 black zmas. Black was always my second option so without hesitation I went to the showroom to pay the ammount and get the bike and to my bad luck those zmas were with tvs tyres so i din't have the heart to buy one of them. The showroom guys are still not sure when they will get my yellow zma delivered. Whenever i call them they say that I might have to wait 2 more months.I need some suggestions from you guys. I really like the rush in rtr 180(i know that i hate tvs tyres in zma but it dosent matter in rtr right???...the whole bike itself is TVS ) so shall i go for rtr 180 cancelling my zma?? I just cant wait anymore... I cant stretch my budget to zmr either.I need honest suggestions from people who have driven both karizma and the rtr 180. Is zma still worth buying even after the relese of zmr?

riding style: mostly city riding, less commuting and rare touring.

my height is a little more than 6 feet. I have test driven rtr in a lonely stretch and those vibrations din't matter much. The seating position was ok for me but im not sure wether ill get back pain if i ride it continuously for some time. So any rtr owners of my height please comment about this

ZMA for: hh reliabilty(my dad still owns a cd100ss 97 model) zma's looks and reputation.

RTR 180 for : its incredible acceleration and pick up, mileage ,goodies like rear discs tubeless tyres clipons etc..If I go for this bike I can spend the remaining money on a good helmet

So shall I wait for 2 more months(it may not be two months but who knows..it can be next week or it can take 3 months also) for ZMA which is already an old bike or shall I go for rtr 180?

P.S. in case you are wondering which bike I ride now its the cd100 ss I also had suzuki fiero and rx 100 for some time and plz don't suggest pulsar 220dtsi. Im not a big fan of bajaj and I have gone through the entire ownership thread of 220 dtsi and also no to FZ because I dont feel the power in it.

You already seemed to have made up your mind..

Usually tall guys complain about the compact dimensions of the RTR. If you are comfortable with it, then go for it.

Tubeless tyres and a rear disc are something not provided on the ZMA but found on the RTR 180.. on the other hand the RTR 180 doesn't feature DC lighting which the ZMA has.

thanks for the reply guys I don't know why its so difficult to get a zma in chennai when people in bangalore get immediate delivery I always liked the zma and rtr equally but I booked zma because of my height and the service manager in the showroom is my brother so service would not be a problem. Now thw Zma itself dosen't want to come to me. I called up the showroom even today and they said the last yellow zma they delivered had a waiting time of 3.5 months So they asked me to wait till november. Im ruling out zma now because of the launch of zmr and the zma is too old now... I called the TVS showroom and they say they can deliver white rtr 180 immediately. Ill go to TVS showroom in person either today or tomorrow for a test drive and will decide on my bike soon

I wish to get a comparision from someone who owns/owned both zma and rtr

why not try other HH showrooms instead of sticking to the present one if you're so keen on the Zma?...Btw,if you fail to get one,do go for the RTR180 since you seem to like it...best of luck...

RTR be it if the bike will be used mostly for city riding. As a matter of fact being a small bike RTTR handles well than ZMA in city traffic.

My dad also own a CD100ss which is more than 10 yrs old and still running fine. The realiabilty of HH is long term

Actually I tried all the showrooms and everyone says the same story of waiting 3months. I actually booked it in a showroom in the month of june and when they din't deliver my bike till august I canceled it and booked it in another showroom. Both are the main dealers in chennai. I cudn't find a zma even as show piece in any showroom

Yes. The reliabilty of HH is still holding me in and my dad's cd100 ss is 12.5 years old and still in top notch condition done something like 1.5 lakh kilometres. Its used extensively

In that case, consider other colours. That's all I can suggest...Btw,if it's not to your liking, there's always the RTR180...and have to mention,it's amazing that you waited for so long ie roughly 3 months for a bike.Honestly,I couldn't have done that...

I think the dealer is trying to act smart and sell what ever he has with him, you should contact the regional office and explain your problem, they will give you better picture (they may direct you to a dealer that can provide you as ASAP). You have already waited 2 months and HH regional office should act on your complaint immediately.
I urge you to immediately contact regional office of HH. Also ask the HH regional office if TVS tyres are standard on Zma, if 'NO' they will rip that dealer !!

Go for the RTR 180. Along with the immediate delivery you will get Tubless tyres and rear disc brakes as additional goodies over the ZMA.
