i have seen the pictures and reviews of the ZMR
comparing the looks i liked the ZMA over ZMR
and moreover the only difference that i found in the ZMR is the PGM-FI
But im not a racing, so i felt the ZMA is a better option for me

        Hi Shrish........

Ok - Let us come to your Point....Do not Blindly go for a Bike which you Like....There are Lots of Bikes available in the Market which can fit easily for you.....

You have decided only Zma and you have soft corner towards Hero Honda Bikes.....How far you know about Zma...??
Youve said that you use your Bike only for City Commuting and occasinal Long Trips.....
Firs of all Zma is not a Commuter ; A Commuter bike should have better seating adjustments,,,, Two Levered Shifter, Should have Smaller Turning Radius....and the Marginal Power of Zma will not be used in City Traffic
It will return only a 30 kmpl of Mileage
Spareparts of ZMA will cost you a big hole in your pocket if you met with an accident......
Zma is mainly a tourer...(though few use it for commuting) Its a heavier bike to manage in stop and go traffic......
Maintenance cost will be heavier after the warranty period....

I would suggest you to check for Extreme and Hunk also....

But if you have ended up in ZMA - then go for it....

im not planning to take Karizma R and not the ZMR
im ok with the mileage of 35-45 and moreover i like HH as a brand
But i have never driven a Karizma
So wanted to know how the handling of this bike would be in citty traffic
Zma-R is still a good buy for that price, it's proven machine, if ZMR does well in sales, Zma-R may be sacked but HH will not let you down in terms of after sales/spares for years. My uncle still happily rides his Street (1.2 lac kms done, no spares issues whatsoever) !!
Zma-R maintainence cost is 'reasonable' for normal/mid-speed crusing usage but will cost more if you rip/rash drive the bike. It's mileage is also reasonable for it's cubic capacity. Zma-R styling is also very good.
Go for it w/o second thought.

I hope not to take karizma R because after the upgrade ther may be slight
variation is resale value.... never go for rtr 180 have more vibrations
better take pulsar 180 or the decent pulsar 220 gr8 pick up power and givies
38-45 mileage........low maintanence than HH Bikes
Faster, faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.....[:)]

Hai dude let me answer your questions from my experience

. Handling of Karizma in city is not at all a problem . i used to ride Karizma through the Chennai traffic daily but the thing is that after driving splender it will take some time to get used to the bike. may be a couple of weeks. After you get used to the bike it is not at all a problem.

now regarding the mileage dont expect 40-45 in city to be frankly it is difficult in city traffic , you will get 35 for sure in city and around 40-43 in highway .

Regarding the bike , yes the parts are costly but a well maintained karizma will not create any problems. Many in this forum have a misconcept that all karizma owners are spending too much on maintainance due to parts cost but the truth is that it hardly needs any replacements unless y

                    PLease someone pay attention here

                    Hi,

I am the same situation of this thread owner in all criteria, except I am 20kg more bulkier & expressway commuter (4-lane)...& I do a little part of city commuting.

I am ok with the ZMA-R millage part.

By Riding 85-90km/h (max)....what will be the spare parts replacement needed for ZMA-R ?

As I read here & there...there is a chain issue of ZMA-R....Is this true ? what is the minimum spare need to replace to solve this issue ?

                    My weekly usage 170km x 3 Day.

I own karizma since last 3 years ....
i will try to answer your queries

1.City riding : It will not time to be used to because karizma has excellent handling .. It feels like driving a car
2.gear lever: no problem at all , now i can not drive bike with toe and heal shifter
3.Spare : only spare parts replaced in last 3 years :
tail light bulb, clutch wire and battery
dont worry for high price of spare parts .. You will not need them if serviced and maintained properly ..
                      The bike is damn solid...

blindly go for it bro...I'm sure you won't face any problems with the bike unless you don't take care of it...

                            ^^^

Thanks for replying....will book/buy in Dec/Jan once the ZMR become mainstream.

In the mean time I need to find these about ZMR :- How effective the Oil-Cooler in real life traffic,How durable the lower part of the fairing,How effective the rear disc brakes & it's running cost ?

If this satisfied me.....I may go for ZMR too or else ZMA-R for sure.
