  • Pulsar 180 or Pulsar 150 (UG 4)

    Hi All,

Need some help here!!! I am confused as to which bike will be better in the long run. I am looking for a bike with low maintainance and long life (at least 3 yrs).

Personally, I like 180 mainly because of its looks and of course the performance. However, I am a city rider and need to take into consideration factors like maintainance and if the bike is prone to problems. Mileage is also a factor however I heard the new 180 (UG 4) gives aroung 50kmpl. Is it true??

Also, I would like to know if the spare parts of 150 is cheaper than 180..

    Pls Help!!!

Your advice will be much appreaciated!!..

    Thanks !

I have been riding a Pulsar 180 classic for around 3 years now, this model had a lot of problems w.r.t Efficiency, Gear box refinement etc, But that has all changed in the later generations gradually, would recommend you getting the 180 . Have ridden the P180 UG 4 and can safely say its the most refined Pulsar ever!. My classic is giving me around 43Kmpl which i feel is pretty good considering its age and power. The difference in mileage between the 180 and 150 isnt much, infact around 5kmpl, so if this matters get yourself a 150. Maintenance on both will more or less be the same. So choose according to your requirements.

Hi...First of all congrats for ur new ride........I don think that there ll be any difference between maintaining a p180 and p150...I am not pretty sure about the new pulsar 180's mileage...but if u want comfort and look then I am sure P180 will be the right choice....I own a P180 and has done around 13 k....It depends on the way u ride dude...New p180 comes with wider tyres, new handle bars, split seats, etc...so I think it will be better than 150 for low maintanence and long life........Happy riding...........!

i own a P180 ug4 , and can surely say u that it is the most refined pulsar in lot of 180's.
now about the mileage factor with harsh riding you can get 40+ mileage and if you drive it sanely u can get 50+ mileage(which i am getting), and mind you some great persons have also got 60kmpl from a UG4.

and about maintenance forget it if you follow a proper run-in and do regular servicing of your bike.

@Subhajeet : First of all, welcome to xBhp, please post a thread in Who are you section ,so we can know you better.

Now I can totally understand your confusion, as I was exactly in the same stage some 45 days ago.

You can read my thread here

I finally bought P180 mainly because of following reasons
            • Better Types (Tubeless)
            • Better Fork
            • Better front disk
            • Better riding posture
            • Better VFM overall
Maintanance cost is more or less same, the only factor is 5kmpl of mileage difference, but in return you get a better bike with more power by paying around 4K more.

Just test drive both bikes and I am sure you will know yourself
