Stunner user's report mileage between 55-65 if ridden well. Shine is also a good option.
I think the Gladi should also fit in the Budget...I could be wrong though.
Best thing is to test ride all bikes; and let him at least get a feel for the size of the bike according to him and then decide.

            My Recommendations for your friend

Hai, as you've told me your friend's budget, and also pulsar 220 DTSi doesn't fit the bill 'so here are my choices which I think would be perfect for your friend, as he is a first time buyer and also a rider'.
            1. Bajaj Pulsar 150 or 180 DTSi, refined, small in size, good handling and styling, etc or wait for the new Bajaj Pulsar 135 DTSi
            2. Bajaj XCD 135 DTS-Si
            3. Bajaj Discover 135 DTSi
            4. Yamaha GS
            5. Yamaha Gladiator Graffiti or type SS/RS
            6. Hero Honda Splendor NXG or +
            7. Hero Honda Super Splendor
            8. Hero Honda Hunk
            9. Hero Honda Passion or passion plus or passion pro
            10. Hero Honda Glamour or Glamour PGMFI
            11. Hero Honda CBZ X-treme
            12. Hero Honda Karizma (basic version)
            13. Hero Honda Deluxe
            14. Hero Honda Achiever
tell him (your friend) to have a test drive of the bike which he wants to buy, you can go with him as well, do the test drive and give your opinion to him. Both of you consult each other and also is parents, look out for what your friend wants in a bike.

              WOW...

I've never probably seen such an informative and useful post. You are great.

But, someone there asked for a suggestion and not for a whole list of bikes in the market in their budget, over their budget and even double the budget.

Affordable, Mileage and Also College (Flaunting )

Go For New 135 being launched by Bajaj.

Just get the Rear Hugger Removed from it and trust me, it would be worth everything that a college guy needs.........

                      Rest " Apni Apni Pasand"
Still Playing in 13.5 bhp @ 8500 rpm
