The UCE500 should be as reliable as the UCE350. About the Ninja, it will certainly be more reliable in most, if not all cases. I hope this clears your confusion.

      Cheers,

        OT:
Am friend is planing to buy the Electra 5S and when we went to check out the bike, the local showroom guys at Faridabad says that the bike is now out of production and currently unavailable........3 days later my friend gets a call saying that one of the customer who had applied for finance did not get through, and the showroom can sell the bike but on 100% cash payment as no finance will be approved....

Any news if the Electra 5S is closed down.

If you can stretch your budget a bit, then go for CL 350. Or else settle for TBTS.
            TBTS is great for touring.

Only the CL500 with maroon and chrome will hit the Indian market. The military green scheme is strictly for the export models.

Standard 350 CI - last chance

                  Hi

The dealers in Kerala still taking booking for Standard 350 CI with an expected delivery time of four months. The model they are taking booking is called Punjab edition with Electra Handlebar, seat and transparent indicator lamps.

So, if anybody want to book one now, do it in Kerala. When you get the delivery, take temporary registration and move it to your state for final registration ( check with local RTO for finer details).

                  regards

Dude, check with all dealers in your area. When I doing was doing my search (in chennai), one dealer said 4 months - doesn't matter if you pay in full cash or whatsoever. There were two other dealers as well. One said 30 - 45 days and other said 4-12 weeks (on phone). Then I went in person to that 4-12 weeks dealer (coz thats closer to my office ) and enquired with him. He now said 30-45 days. Reason: He been dealer for 20 years and preference is given to him first. So it all depends on dealer to dealer.
OT: I was going for R15 ;booked it as well when the first dealer said 4 months waiting period. Later, out of blue, I called up others and came to know they can do it in 45 days max. Lucky me !!. Cancelled my R15 and going for CL350 now.

You are very lucky chap :-) but in Pune we have only one dealer so ...he is doing his monopoly here......doesnt even talk in phone.......though my bro bought a TBTS last week from that same dealer ......

I am very much interested in chrome version of C500 ...but dont know when this will hit Indian market ....I think if the waiting period is 5 months then why not to wait for chrome one :-))))........thats a master piece......

Also i would request you to ask your local dealers if they are taking booking for chrome one now please ? That will help me so that i can force pune dealer atleast to book now........

Cast Iron on its way out

I believe its better to stay away from the CI models as the spares for the same are already in short supply. Not sure if RE is going to remain committed to providing spares for the older models, given the success of the integrated engine on its Classic series.

I found out that the bend silencer in RE classic series is not approved by RTO.Got to know from the dealer .....i dont know then why RE is promoting the silencer...

I would request you guys to check with your dealer as well please and let me know ????? I am really very upset to know this as the silencer was really classic and sound was awesum

^^^ While registration you need to go with the factory fitted one. RTO won't approve upswept silencer. Confirmed from my dealer as well. As RE said in its website, it is for off-Road purpose only. BUT once registered, you can change it (I suggest after first/second service atleast) to upswept one . It produces thump lesser than std 350, so cops wont catch you on road. No worries !!
