Do you want peace of Mind First or the Thrill of Speed.?
How long would you ride a 600, 50/100 kms max, how long would you ride it more than 170kmph,
Ninja shall resolve all of it!
Think about it!
LP bhai saab I guess you misread the name of OP.
Even i have suggested to go for a Ninja.
Hmm well thanks a lot guys for helping me with this I have decided to wait for the expo and will book the ninja in green on the 15th of Jan 10. But I called up probiking yesterday and was shocked to know that the waiting period is 5 months....... isnt that reeeeeeally loooong!!!!!!

Can u guys throw some light on the fact that for about 4 lacs if a get a fully legal second hand 600 what papers shall i check and what year will i get like a 2002 or 2005 also kawasaki zx6r or cbr 600rr or R6 or GSX 600r
I am more interested in acceleration and good handling!!!!! And ha what is the top speed a 600 can hit !!!!!!!!!!!!
~225-240kmph
0-100 ~5secs
Ninja 250R is without doubt a foolproof motorcycle, but most of the members here are listing the pros of a new motorcycle over an old one,
any 600 even if its a 5 year make and has been taken proper care of will smoke the 250R,
with 5 lacs(hope you increase it) i wouldn't go for the Ninja, simply because i will get bored of it in the next 5-6 months
i don't see any benefits of going in for the 250R except peace of mind and that too only when you don't come across a very good 600,
even my advise would be that if you don't come across a good 600 which is well looked after with clean papers then go for the 250R without any second thoughts,
are 600's and 1000's and above bought for speed anywhere in the world except for racetracks?
we all know that how there are very strict rules as far as speeding and riding rashly goes,
120kmph is the limit almost everywhere, so what would a 1000 do at that point,
True with Ninja you will get 'peace of mind' but it won't match the thrill of a 600, thats why i say, talk with loads of guys, go to DRI, check what papers are needed, whether the bike with clean papers is well maintained example or not, i hope other motorcyclists might help you out
what i feel is--if you get a good 600 with clean papers and a good service record, it will be worth going for, at least i would,
measure the pros & cons and take a decision, all the best
One of my friend told me that he has a seller who is selling a 2005 Yamaha R1 red colour for 4.5 lacs. any comments on this !!!!

lot of footwork will be involved but might be worth it,
wait for the expo...(i believe you already are)
dear. a gleaming new ninja is better than a used 600, but 5 years down the line, you d low on style Q as well as monetary value if u get a ninja,
go for ninja if you wish to ride it every single day.
if you want to ride occasionally and just for fun, get a well maintained 600. a cbr 96-99 shouldn t b more than 225-250k. for a little over 4 lacs you may get a 2001+ cbr. every other of the big four wwould be yours for a little less.
my take is, legal or not, you are quoted the same prices.
i was recently offered a r1 08 grey, for 7 lakhs that should act as a reference for you. it was from mumbai.
getting a zx 9 r for 4 lacs thats probably 02/03 model.
if interested , check my ad in wanted section for my number n sms me.

Guys,
As a proud owner of 2007 Honda CBR600rr I suggest you to buy this bike if you are more into track riding. For your everyday riding I think less than 150CC meets in many aspects.
If you are planning to purchase any used sports bike(imported) :
1. Check if the bike Registered in Seller's name.
2. Check if the Seller obtained Transfer of Residence to India and imported in this process. If not, DONT BUY. It is ILLEGAL.
3. If Seller has proper documents like TOR in his passport, registration, Insurance then the TOR date should be more than 2 year before he can legally sell the bike. In other words the latest LEGAL sportsbike you get is 2007 Model.
