Thank you very much for such a detailed reply. Its helps me to choose(I am more inclined towards gs 150 r)
Do you have any idea about the after service sales and spare parts available of suzuki?it is said that suzuki's after service sales and spare parts availabilty is more of concern.
I also want to wait till the yamaha sz is in the market.since yamaha is also showing good performance.
Thanks,
Bike Aspirer.
Well your 2 choices uni and gs 150 are not so bad. And the Yamaha SZ is a 125cc bike. Refer it on www.autos.maxabout.com. Yamaha has sure made stunning success with its fz and fazer series. Since I own a fz 16, I feel its the 2nd best bike in the 150cc segment. Hoping you know all the positives, the only cons with fz are 1. A small rear seat. 2. Less mileage compared to uni and gs. From the above 2, the Unicorn is my favourite and I would consider it the best in 150cc segment. The only problem with it is its too common now adays and it is underpowered for its capacity. But it has the most refined engine in 150cc bikes and its a pleasure to ride. Monoshock suspension is the best and gives the most comfortable ride in its category (so does fz 16). Service is improving and not so bad as compared to suzuki. I suggest go for it and do some minor modification like engine guard like fz and a new paint scheme, which would cost you around 3k extra. Mileage is great at 52-54kmpl in city and 60-68 kmpl in highways. The gs 150, ndtv's bike of the year is growing more popular on the roads, ( though I haven't seen the grey and orange colored bike ever ). It continues to make decent sales. It has all features of a 150cc bike and the display is the best in class. The seat is also the biggest among 150cc and overall the bike looks good. Ride is comfortable but heavier at 148kg. The mileage is good at 50plus in city and around 60-70 in highways. The only cons are suzuki's bad service and the availability of more optimum bikes. So go for the Unicorn if you want a trusted and proven bike or gs if you want a bike starting to prove and give trust
