      Kind of OT here:
Well i have read in several threads that Cbr 600 or Cbr 1000 are good for the starters in terms of handling ,city riding ,comfort, means you'll be as comfortable as you are riding your Indian bikes(not precisely though).Want to know that Gixxers are known as beasts and fast but as they are coming with different riding modes ,will they be as easy to ride in different modes as CBRs ??

I'm a decent rider with no racing aspirations, and even if I was ultra talented, I'd still not be able to use / exploit the full potential of any of these bikes. They're just too damn advanced now.

              thanks buddy .

                  Well its down to you.
You can ask for help from Vishal (Fireblah), he will be able to tell you that which bike is suitable to ride in kolkata atleast.
Well he has Fireblade and R1 and there's a Busa also I kolkata.
                  I would suggest GIXXER :P

I personally would ask you to go for the Blade. It is something you can Ride with ease on the track and on the street as well.

The ABS provided will make sure of braking safety when you can do the speed for which SBKs are meant for.

Have heard lots of comments from experts who have ridden these for years, if you are even a little bit of a track person, go for the Blade. Think no further.

You can ask the SBKs owners from xBHP about their personal reviews.

R1 being a low rev machine, is a delight to ride but is not a regular use bike (none of the mentioned bikes are).
I would get a R6, CBR, Fazer or a 750 GSXR instead. You will never be able to push a litre class bike to its true potential unless you plan to race (not on the streets) or something.
Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE - The word itself says I M POSSIBLE.

@ the thread starter, We all do know that SBK's are lifestyle rather than to be called as Hardcore Biking. In this there are some very sensible riders who'll perfectly balance practicality & passion rather than jumping into passionate stuff that makes no sense during the long run. Yes, tell us what kind of a rider you are, Hyper Tourer? Track addict? or just a Moolah guy who showcases his beautiful piece of machinery in a coffee shop? I have seen people making sensible choices in their buying behaviour when it comes to SBK's like GSFerrari with his MT & Mr.XX(Sorry couldn't recollect his name) who has got his Bandit in the midst of all the fancy SBK attractions..! Although this might not change the way you feel about SBK's as you have already made up & short listed three Gas Guzzlers, i think this will atleast make you or any other SBK buyer think twice before they jump into the fancy world of SBK'ing.

P.S Apart from all that i would personally prefer the CBR 1000RR as it will atleast forgive me for the mistakes i make, as for R1 i will be on a suicide mission...!
Whenever there is a Rainbow in the sky, I know it's u mastering the art of Cornering. U will always be remembered brother, R.I.P Arun.

Hope you are yet to buy SBK.. Go for BMW's S1000RR fully loaded for Rs.25 odd lacs. The pricing is much steeper but you'll get safety, exclusivity and the best performance than any other stock bike in the world.

Just go for it off course if you can afford
