Old FZ or new Gladiator?

    Old FZ or new Gladiator?

    1) Hello everyone.. My friends friend is selling his Yamaha FZ.. its run around 12k and its an 2009 march model (1 year old).. The bike was shown to the mechanic and he said that its in good condition..

    2) Im also thinking of buying new (showroom) Yamaha Gladiator SS..

    SO the problem is that im really confused with wht to do? Should i go for the old FZ or buy the new gladiator???? nd pls tell why????

    Nd how much can i pay for his FZ?? Pls help..........

      First of all, the FZ is a 150CC bike and gives quite less mileage of around 40-45 kmpl. So if you have no problems with this, then get the FZ16.
      If the mechanic is saying its in good condition, then I recommend going for it. The cost should be around 40K-505K.
      By the way why is he selling his FZ16? Its a very good bike to be ridden.

      And if you are thinking of a new Bike under 150CC, then I recommend taking a ride on the new Pulsar 135LS. Its really an awesome bike. Give the performance of 150CC bikes, but is the best handling bike due to excellent power to weight ratio, and also class leading mileage. You wont get these on a Gladiator SS. And also the Gladiator is about to replaced by the new Yamaha SZ.

        for a year odd old fz you can expect to pay anything between 45k - 55k depending on the condition and of course ur ability to bargain....

        check the bike for abuse...see if the engine running is smooth...12k in a year means the bike has done its services on time hopefully and should still be running smooth...

        as for the gladiator...it is really a good bike ...will probably give u more mileage than the fz and certainly more than a year old fz...but u will lose out on the the torque and power that the fz provides....upto u really wat u wanna go for....

        frankly buying a 2nd hand bike is risky but as u say u know the seller and bike is in good condition then it comes to ur requirements ....if style and power is wat u want then go for the fz else mileage is ur cup of tea go for the gladiator....

          A new bike when compared to a Old Bike which almost comes in a same Price range - i would opt for a New Bike...

          Both being the same Brands and different products - i would anyway go for Gladi....

          Though its an 125 it can provide u a better mileage than that of FZ which can only capable of anything less than 40....or even less...

          FZ has nothing but can only show its Fat A$$,,, It an Useless bike may be marks can be given to its High Torque....Other than Manufacturing defects, Fragile parts used, Even the Alloys doesnt have the capablity to sustain a Crash,,,,as they went into Powders....

          Gladi boy, Gladi....

            if the low mileage doesnt matter to you,I think it's a really good deal...but I always recommend new bikes over used ones...Personal opinion.Also,with the gladi,you get good mileage too and it's one fantastic bike IMO...

              FZ anyday if the bike is in good condition. no other bike handles better. besides you can have various performance upgrades if you need more power.

                lucrative deal

                .....but i would say, make your priorities clear first.You can have
                either                 more power and better looking machine at the cost of less FE and reliability issues
                or                 little less powerful and good looking machine with the benefits of better FE and service support.

                in either case the deal is good & whatever you chose, you'll not regret.

                  you cannot say its a useless bike...it has its own pros and cons...agreed that it doesnt have top end but its designed not to have top end...get the kit if you have the money for top end....also theres the problem of rims getting bent but its cause of the Indian roads...also contrary to my statement a bike which cannot survive on Indian roads is useless in anyway cause the main parts are the wheels.but it has top notch handling and road presence.mileage initially will give anywhere between 40 to 50 but as time goes on expect nothing more than 35 or 40 if ridden decently.

                  i suggest to go for a new glady as its acceleration is good but not better than fz of course..mileage is anything but far from fz.and its good to look at too

                      I think il go for the old FZ.. But its millage is only 35.. i have to somehow compromise on millage if i want a better looking bike than gladiator with good power..

                        Dude i suggest you go for the FZ if in good condition. You will regret if you miss it. Just test ride your friends friend FZ. It is really a good machine. Only disadvantage is Milege. Even i have a year old FZ done 13100 kms. Its giving me 38-40. I always go BANG BANG...

                        If you are a silent type of person just need a good bike for daily use then go for Pulsar 135.
