Is Avenger 200 a good choice for me?
I have to go for a new bike in about 3 weeks time. Originally wanted to upgrade to a Unicorn from my Caliber 115, but the waiting period puts me off. My wife and I have been eyeing the Avenger too.

1) Pillion seat is not comfortable. Getting on the pillion seat isn't also comfortable for ladies or elderly people.
2) Gives average in 32-40 range.
3) 6.1 - I am not sure but for my friend who is 5'10"-5'11" -- it is perfectly fine.
4) It is not as comfortable as other smaller bikes in taking u-turns or negotiating traffic.
Now, positives:
1) Looks cool
2) Engine feels good too.
3) Stable at high speed

1. there are other more pillion friendly bikes.
2. Customize the seat of Avenger to make it more pillion friendly.
I also saw the Pulsar 135. Waiting period for black one is 10 days but I want the red one which has a 25 day period. The problem is TD is not available for any of the bikes.Better late by 30 minutes than early by 30 years.

If reliability is what you are after, skip the avy. My roommate has one and has faced a long list of issues, right from loose screws, parts falling off, chain and sprocket problems, leaky engine head, oil loss etc etc.
Add perennial terrible mileage of ~30-35 to that (I have a P200, I get 43+)
Plus its a detuned P200 engine with 17.XX PS anyway
PS: As for the height part I'm 6'3" and I could fit on the bike okay, but always experienced lower back pain in sustained rides.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER

^^ i think youve had a really bad experience with the bike, because generally ive not heard of these issues... and the engine is detuned, to increase torque and to make it more suitable for a cruiser style of riding.
My offerings to the gods of speed -
- KTM Duke 200
- Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

well.. you have a long range there mate.. avenger, P135, Unicorn..
first get your requirements..
need;
- city riding onl?
- some touring?
- lot of touring?
- road conditions?
etc.
etc.
if it is not for touring, I want to have a good bike for city riding only..
then comes personal:
- budget?
- cruiser? would be pain in traffic..
- look matters?
- pillion comfort?
- Mileage?
- Maintanibility? Bajaj require regular service and proper care.
etc.. etc..
I would SUGGEST, if this is a Big/ one time investment, first clear your requirements, and then go ahead instead of fixing on a date.. just a suggestion..
I own a bajaj only and happy with it.. but it requires maintenance..

I am not keen on the servicing thing since I do it myself. Date is important since I only buy my vehicles on 21 March. My travels will be mostly city which is about 50% on the highways. My daily commute is 65kms.
I am also a Bajaj owner for past 7 years and hence have no issues with going for Bajaj again.Better late by 30 minutes than early by 30 years.
