@OP - The T-bird, in the UCE configuration is a very refined bike, complete with electric start and disc brakes. I feel because of the riding stance on the bike, its very comfortable ( atleast in the current range of bullets ). Other option in the same would be the Classic 350 which is a few k more expensive.

One factor to be looked at is that all these bikes have a usage life of max 10 years. The RE, if maintained well, will last long... really long ( like amaron!! hehe )
may be you are right but this is what my friend is facing

Regarding Thunder Bird, if you can get the old thunder bird with old cast iron engine its good but the company doesnt sell it anymore so you have to look out for some resale, my friends who have purchased the thunderbird 3 years back without twin spark one has average maintenance of 5000/+ per month and engine over hauling is very common in re occuring as the aluminium engine has lot of issues.

i thought of R15 as well friends but the problem is I am 6' 3"...and one of my friends(about my height) who owns one says that the riding posture is a real pain in the back...
So that is why i ruled out r15...n yes i did a test drive of r15,it really wasn't comfortable...

is it really difficult to own a RE???
i mean the only thing i hear people disliking about it is the maintainance issue, faulty electricals etc???

                Bullets

                Hi there,
With a Bullet all you need is a good mechanic. Also the new TBTS(Thunderbird TwinSpark) is an UCE engine. It is very much refined and will give you little trouble. Its an awesome bike with good power and a mileage of 40+ easily.

I will suggest the Thunderbird. Also the riding position is just great. One thing is for sure, you will never regret buying it.

Also do not worry about maintenance issues. Compared to other bikes, yes there is a little more maintenance. But then it is worth dude.
Definitely will not cost 5K per month.

Owning a Royal Enfield is a completely different experience.

Go for it. I own a Standard Bullet (3 months old). It is just awesome.
                My choice:
                1. Thunderbird/Classic - If you want an Enfield 350 cc
                2. R15 - If you want a sports bike.

Thats it. With your budget look no further.

All the best and ride safely

Id say get the R15.The posture can be a little painful in the city traffic but its not tht bad.
Test ride sitting the right way, relax your elbows, hold on to the tank with you legs and DON'T sit upright.i really doubt if you would find it painful.
