Maintaining ZMR may be a costly affair. A fall is enough to put a very deeeeep hole in your pocket. As you are depending on your parents, I advice you to stay away from ZMR. The Karizma is more value for money with same performance.Originally posted by paths_of_glory View Post

can hunk tour to leh effortlessly like p150First things first... I'm 5feet 10inch tall and 70 kilo medium Athletic build... Being a Hunk owner (Actually I chose Hunk over Zma-r, my bro was pestering me to but Zma-r) I can say only one think... Before I felt Unicorn is the best handler in 100cc to say even Zma-r segment(not ZMR, I feel its the best handling 2 wheeler produced by an Indian manufacturer) but after owning one and pushing to its limits on abandoned roads(as a responsible citizen of India, I feel street roads are meant to travel from point A to point B) I felt it is the best handler, great maneuverability in crowded city traffic...Originally posted by paths_of_glory View Postis hunk weak when it comes to body parts

Swing a leg over it and ride it the only thing that might flash you is... KING... The awesome feel of the bike, the feedback from bike is simply superb... Let me also tell you I have done good number of tours on this bike and the recent one in march was 1200kms(in just 4 days) I was very comfortable as a matter of fact I did not get even a slight hint of backache, fatigue or anything of that sort only thing in entire journey(all this if you get your riding position right) all I had to face was at the end after returning home had slight pain in right wrist which vanished after few hours of rest... Believe me Hunk is that comfortable... Its equally competent with Zma-r as a tourer + has more comfort...
I'm not a novice to Zma-r. I have good tons of riding experience with this bike too. But as this is your first bike and you are still young enough I would suggest buy Hunk it wont burn your dads pockets (not just mileage I'm referring to overall maintenance of bike; spares in case of accidents included
) above all it will allow you to learn lot more about proper riding habits with ease(that's where You will learn to appreciate HH and Honda over competition) and all this at Rs 17000 less(Zma-r - Hunk
)
And one more thing my dear(Sorry I don't know your name) It can be any bike... If proper ride in period is not performed you will face least mileage figures... Out of my survey in my place(You won't believe I have literally done it by going to each Hunk owner) 70% of the owners used to get only 30Kmpl and they did not know the mystery behind it... But after trickily extracting their stupid riding habits then came to know the mysterious fact... But in my case it was different In my case. last tour for 1162Km(most of the stretch I maintained 80+) I used Rs.1250 petrol(I emptied entire tank before filling) do the math yourself...
Conclusion:Zma-r is a great bike to own but I won't suggest it as a first bike. Hunk offers you hassle free college life at much lower initial cost but still offers everything that Zma-r does + comfort during long tours and Yes you can with ease do any Ghat sections(as I haven't been to Leh) tours too... Save extra money to buy good riding gears or invest it so that you can buy ZMR
... In your case Hunk +1 over Zma-r...

Go for Hunk. It has Gas Reservoir Shocks which gives best balance between ride quality and handling. The looks are also cool.Originally posted by paths_of_glory View Postsorry no gs for me

go for the pulsar 220 if u want it for only 4 years. bajaj bikes can handle the stress for that duration very well!!! its more powerful than the zma n top speed is a feather in the cap for the 220. zma on the other hand is more reliable and a stable bike. less vibrations in the 80 to 100 range compared to 220. spares will be a problem if u want to change any. i wanted to buy the karizma r for touring as it gives me ample of torque!!! since u r in to city riding p220 is best suited since it can leave behind the zma in a drag for sure.Originally posted by paths_of_glory View Postyipeeeeeeeeeeeee
parents agreed for zmar
please tell if driven sanely whats the mileage
i hope i won't regret my decision later on
or maybe a p220 if its reliable and can work for 4 years hassle free

In CBZ and Hunk, Hunk surely is a looker. But when I test rode it, I was somehow never comfortable on it (that's why I rejected it, otherwise was positive on buying it). Make sure you test ride both.
CBZ Xtreme has a good stance, and its visor is quite high, so wind flow may be better controlled, but its goitre is love or hate affair. I think both bikes will give similar mileage.

can hunk tour to leh effortlessly like p150 ?
We can do a trip to leh even on 100 or 125cc bikes. All it requires is experience. That's it!. For your information, the engine on hunk is tad more powerful, much refined and reliable than the one on p150. It can do all day 80-90 without any niggles. But any day its better to have a 200cc+ displacement bike to do such tours.
Your earlier choice Gs vs Hunk was much easier than the present Cbz vs Hunk. There isn't much difference between the two except for external looks, all though i don't find any reason to compare between the 150 twins.
Its better to have a test drive of the above bikes than having a vicarious experience.GRS addict
