  • Please help to select 150 cc bike

Hello, I am confused to choose my next bike.
I just sold off mine shine after 4 years . I am planning to buy a bike in 150 segment and my requirements are listed below.
    1. Should be smooth at speeds 60-80. (No vibrations. My shine was extremely rough at speeds greater than 60)
    2. Should provide good ride quality/Comfort. (I am having back ache problem. Again my shine had back breaking shock absorbers).
    3. Mileage should be in the range of 40-50. (I am a sedate rider)

I am 6' 3", and not comfortable with the seating posture of FZ16 and apache.

Currently I have shortlisted GS150,Hunk,Xtreme and Pulsar 150/180.

I have not included unicorn, because I am not happy with honda service centers. And also not satisfied with the quality of the plastic/other parts in my previous honda bike. Please help me to choose.

i would recommend either Hunk or Xtreme from your requirements . take test rides of both to see which has a better seating position for you .

i would have really suggested you the apache rtr 160 fi but since you arent comfy with the seating position.......blindly buy the GS150R its uncommon, looks catchy, smooth at (60-80),6th cog etc etc its a Good VFM bike, even p180 is a good option but it isnt as smooth as GS150R

Hunk is little comfortable than Xtreme, but may not provide good knee recess when compared to Xtreme for your height. GS150R is good, but heard lots of issues about it (Courtesy Ownership thread).

Simple, have a test ride of above 3 will help you. All the three bikes are capable of giving mileage above 55kmpl...but 45kmpl-50kmpl in regular use. Vibrations are again minimal at the speeds you mentioned.

Hunk has the best handling in its class.happily it can give you more than 50kmpl and its more fun to ride than other bikes....

GS150R for you.. it didnt win the 150cc bike of the year for nothing..

if you are looking for overall packag and a tall bike go for gs150r very nice bike and also gives mileage around 50.
                  if you choose HH,
insted of hunk go with Xtreme.
hunk is tuned for city riding and have more low end and mid range torque then extreme but if you want highway companian extreme is the best bet.

I saw go for the CBZ xtreme. It is a super smooth and comfortable vehicle and has that same reliable mill as the Unicorn and it looks nice too.

if you do not mind the cc the hh zma is the best option till date and will give good mileage according to your driving style.

It was the only 150 launched in the year 2009, hence there wasn't much choice left with evaluaters

I would recommend the ZMA. But if you want a 150cc, go for the xtreme. The knee recess is perfect for tall men.

PS: I am 6'2" and I ride an xtreme. And i have an extra 2" foam beneath the front seat so it does not pain me while offroading. Believe me, iIt might not be the fastest I have ridden but surely is comfortable..At par with the Bull!
