  • Wondering if to go for a P220 DTSI 2010

hey guys...this is my first post on Xbhp.
so if i have posted in the wrong section please excuse me...well m 18 now so its time for me to get hands on a geared bike....thats a jump from a 100 CC dio to a pulsar (220 cc)

so the question is...should i buy a pulsar 220?? not the FI version....i have heard it gives too many problems after a years use or so...so i am really wondering....as m jus 18 my dad aint gonna buy me a perfect bike like a CBR or something....but i gotta manage with a pulsar

though that bike has power and stuff...i dont wana end up with a crushed beer can engine after i use it for one year...
so please tell me what shall i do....and if theres some alternative please let me know!

    thanks!

      @Adrenaline..

xBhpians can help you out only when you spill out the details.
For example: Your budget, personality(Height, weight etc), styling, looks, power and displacement, mileage, kind of usage etc.

Pulsar 220 is not a bad bike and even I've never heard that after a year bike's condition becomes bad moreover it depends upon the owner how he uses and maintain the bike anyway I love the pulsar brand very much but and have a 150cc but the after sale service is third class due to this reason later I buyed a apache 160fi but recently heard from my friend ( also a xbhpian ) said that in probiking svc the service quality is awesome and now planning to buy a 220s......hell hot bike.......definitely male.......

i have seen many old 220 fi's in the svc and all of them r perfect even after ~2yrs of usage and the 220 dts-i is supposed to be better than the 220fi in many way's including build quality.. and is this ur first bike ?? how tall r u ?

that is crap abt pulsars goin to dust after 1yr.. maybe in the 100cc segment but not above the 135cc+ catogory.. all depend's on ur maintanence..
RED BULL did'nt give me WINGS, my BIKE did !!

I ride an Apache RTR 160.TD P220 yesterday fell in love with it....get It man! or else Apache 180 is always there for you

as you are 18 I guess you should get the R15 if budget is not a issue....

else P220 is an awesome bike but if you want a better handler and an awesome throttle response get the Apache...

P220 is big and heavy better for highway use.. apache is lighter than pulsar better for city use.....

Pulsar engine is a lil more refined than Apache..

                Two choices my friend:
1.R15-if you are less than 5.6' and less than 70 Kg
                2.Else P220 DTSI......

The Yami R15 is the best bike in the country but since its a bit lower in ride height and has skinny tyres which does not suit people with heavy built...

                Just my opinion....

This is totally wrong, i am 5.7 and weigh 56kgs, and i own the 220 dts-i. Its never a problem for me ( I pray alot to JESUS). Its the confidence that matters my friend! which city are u located in?
when the strech is empty, my bike tells me to wring its throttle and give my commands!

hey the pulsar 220 is a really good option
and about your capability to handle it depends really only on you yourself

@pulsating220 even i do pray to God each time i take out my bike
and dude R 15 i costly and not that good for tall guys

no,wat he meant was that any more height or weight would be useless on an r-15.. not that ppl below that height's can't ride the 220(would be funny to look at though, big bike small rider )..
i really don't get why ppl call the p220 heavy ? fells heavy because of the bulk in th front, but that's abt it.. it's such a easy handler..
if it's power u want and wanna smoke the competition, get the 220 eye's closed... also all that torque,it's so usable.and when u settle and glide abt 80 @4k rpm's,u can't even feel or hear the engine, convert's from being a brute and become's butter smooth.. the best all rounder..

and as Dogg said the riding is very easy especially given the riding position and the clip ons

Wondering if to go for a P220 DTSI 2010 ?

Yes please do before some one realises this machine is really fast and decidesto make it illegal. Kinda like good things dont last long.

Suggests u to hang-on for a couple of weeks more as something new SHOULD surfaces as its very very long time since ZMR's launch that we all are eagerly waiting to have a new breed of higher capacity bikes to be caught even in testing mode.

I was waiting patiently since last year, was planning to go for ZMR but same power in ZMA & ZMR has downed my hopes, some idiots brain-washed my mind & took p220-f last month for my self & sold my 2 years old very reliable FZ.

Suggest u to hang-on & u will not regret waiting this 2 months of summer coz new TVS is already around some corners & will be caught by someone & all will be acknowledged one at a time.
You must be the change you wish to see in the world
