  • Help me get a cruiser (imported or vardenchi)

    Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum, and have already started to like it since the day of joining. I try and take some time off my busy schedule and come to xbhp and get regular updates in the biking world.

I was a proud owner of the 1st Bajaj Pulsar 180 in Chennai in the year 2002 (The guys at the biggest Bajaj Showroom in Chennai, can show you their 1st Delivery Book, and my name shines in the 1st serial number )

Since 2005, I have left biking, but it has been a pleasure all the time.

Now I wanted to join a forum, which showcases many different kinds and types of bikes. xbhp.com is the one i was looking for.

Now I need your help. I have this urge to buy a cruiser. below 500CC. Either Imported or toned ones from India, like Vardenchi's.

I have been looking all over, and unable to find one of my match.

If you mean bikers out there could suggest me some, or even offer me any if you have for sale (new or pre-owned in good condition), I would not mind going for one.

    Until then, cheers to all..

Why not wait for an official Harley? (and stretch that CC limit)

Vardenchi is as reliable as any other RE.... (duh! sounds funny alright)
A custom bike can be a pain to manage in case of a spill or for getting spares etc.

As far as Indian cruisers are concerned.... wait, let me count again.... you are badly out of options.... and wait you said under 350, that leaves almost as much options now.

      Imported vehicles?

Rumour mills suggest that the Eliminator 250 cc would be out soon.... it makes good sense to wait for it!

Give a try with maguscars, they should be probably be able to import one for you. But remember to get oil & grease in your hands or a trusted mech.

I'd suggest that you go for the CLASSIC 350 although no more bookings are being taken for this year. TBTS or UCE ELECTRA is also a very good option in the 350cc category. And as Satyen said you may wait for the 250cc Eliminator. IMHO a custom bike'll be difficult to live by. One of my friends has got his bull modified from VICTORY CUSTOMS (in Delhi). The bike's name is 'RAWBER'. AFAIK it does give lotta trouble.Plus i think re-sale value for a modded bull(custom bike) is ahemm..!!!(Thats a different issue though) You can look up their website to get an idea.
But if you can stretch the limit go for CL500.

          HAPPY CRUISING

If you want Indian bike you are out of options!
            Look at these
            1. Bajaj Avenger(200cc)
            2. Thunderbird Twinspark and i think now its also available in 500 cc mill which is lifted from classic 500

and if you are willing to shellout and can up your cc limit
            1. HD Vrod
            2. Suzuki intruder

                    Thanks a lot guys.

I could conclude on one thing, Never go for custom designed bikes, if the custom designer is out of your city or you do not know any good mechanic.

Regarding Thunderbird 500cc, it seems quite interesting. @nipunblaze135LS, you need to update this space if you have any other information. Also the 2 imported cruisers which you have suggested, would burn a big big hole in my pocket, plus they are huge monsters..

@aargee, could you give me more information about maguscars? where? what? how? etc.. I saw their website, but i feel they only deal in imported cars and not bikes... nevertheless any information would be great...

@satyenpoojary, interesting explanation.. I would definitely want to wait for the elim 250, if at all there is pukka news of it.. any information or source of this, would be appreciable.. also, official Harley, is damn shitty costly... plus it would eb a PIA for paying the bucks for gas... itll be really unmatchable for my budget.. (Maybe in the future, i might dream of owning a HD.. )

Ping the member named dcs in this forum for maguscars.

Elim 250 is still a rumour, dont know if and when it will come. Though I have seen a couple of bajaj test mules of a new avenger which sports a 200 oil cooler badge.... but they were'nt the 200 for sure!

HD is cheap as compared to everything else in the segment (except ofcours the RE bikes)

PS. Fuel effeciency and low maintenance arent exaclty RE's forte

                        @greatest
my friend again went to RE showroom
Salesperson said "there are some meetings going on regarding new engine thunderbird"
so i think 500cc is on the cards

please dont bombard me if the news is wrong

                          hmmm...

@satyen, Ill have to hunt for dcs now.. lol.. BTW, I think waiting for a TB500 than an Elim250 is worth it.. HD is cheaper... strange... my research says they would be costlier for the moolahs you get from other cruisers... but yes HD is a different league.. I would not mind buying a pre-owned HD from this forum, if someone is kind enough (and rich enough) who is gonna buy a Brand New HD Indian Sold, and sell off his old HD.. I am being selfish, but thts how its suppposed to be.. :P..

@nipunblaze135LS, enjoy yaar.. keep up the good work for the info provided.. Hope it turns out to be in our biker enthusiasts favor... Hope we see the dawn of the new TB 500... im loving this...

@ greatest: True!!! Magus is not in the imports of bikes.
Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!
