  • Which one to go for after Avenger 200 ?

    Hello fellow riders,
I have been an observer on the site for a long time and really enjoying it !
I recently bought an Avenger 200 and have clocked 28xx kms on it. This is my first bike and its really comfortable, but I have an athletic build and find it really very difficult to drive in bumper to bumper traffic with a pillion, so instead of enjoying the ride its getting more stressful and I am planning to change the bike to either the Baby1 (R15) or the Fastest Indian (p220). My requirements are : daily city drive for 30kms sometimes with pillion, once in a month long trip, good power, looks, reliable engine, and easy to maintain, budget is not an issue but don't want to go for Ninja
So brothers and senior members please help me out here

your list are little bit hard to obtain because
city drive:-both are good bikes in this part
long trip:-I have no idea but heard that p220 is good in this purpose
      pillion:-the p220 again has a lead here
power:-the R15 has most of its power in higher rpms & as you have to travel in cities you cannot use its power so p220 again here
looks:-now the R15 has the lead in this part
reliable engine:-the R15 again takes the lead here
easy to maintain:-the p220 has dead cheap parts & the R15 has costlier parts but the R15 parts last much longer & the p220 has little niggling problems

I think I have explained everything. So take your pick.

But I would suggest you a ZMA-R. Which fits all your requirements.

        +1 on that.

        Hey bro,

I too would suggest Karizma (not ZMR). Great bike anyday. Highly reliable. Only thing is that mileage wouldn't be good(30-35). The seating posture is very comfortable and the pillion seat is also good. Good amount of torque available at the low end also. So start and stop traffic isn't a problem. The perfect tourer after the Bulls. Another sad thing is that it misses some of the modern gadgets. The engine is dead smooth. And the power delivery is very linear. HH service will never be a problem. Pretty easy on maintainence side.

P220 and R15 are great bikes any day. I just felt ZMA suits you better.
Still to give you some detail on these two,
P220 is for raw power. No doubt it is the fastest indian. And a lot of people keep saying bajaj is down in quality blah blah, don't fall for that. Yes I agree their build quality is a notch below the Hondas and the Yams. But not bad. It might be slightly on the higher side in terms of maintainence. But you'll forget all that when you are experiencing 21 horses pulling you. Cornering will take time to learn. you won't have much problem in city driving also. The projector headlamp is a boon in night driving. Plus bulky tires means solid stability at higher speeds. Service depends on the place you live and the dealer.

Coming to the 15, it is the most technologically advanced bike in India. Bulid quality and engine are top notch. But you'll need to rev it hard to see what this machine is capable of which is impossible in the city. The R15 will be happy to be revved hard and is addicted to cornering. But in the city you'll need low end torque which isn't there and squeezing through traffic is unthinkable due to its wide body. But again, when on open roads you'll forget all these. Service is generally good.

        So,
        Karizma-commutish relaxed tourer.
        P220-Wild beast.
        R15-The R1 for India.

Take test drive and follow your heart. And don't forget to update us bro!

hey dude go for the karizma, its one bloody reliable bike, good in traffic and all, also you can check the apache rtr 180, thats one good ad reliable bike in traffic, maintenance wise its a bit low as compared to HH. yes but you will miss a bit on the engine smoothness part.

Thanks Mod for approving my query and everyone for the replies !
I personally don't like the ZMA as it looks ugly( no offense any one) and the ZMA-R as it looks dated. Drove a friends R15 and just one word for it AWESOME !!! Also did TD of the P220S, the bike has really good power throughout unlike the R15 but doesn't come near d Baby1 in terms of handling ! I think I am so much in love the Baby1 that all the other bike feel a little less ! and start comparing their features with R15. I am in the same dilemma as fellow member GOU was and I really think I am going to end up with the same bike

dude you are in love with R15. So go with your heart as we dont want you to regret later on & curse us xbhp members.

As i have told earlier it is a very good bike. But if you dont like a ZMA-R then why dont you try out a royal enfield or something like that. Because the avenger itself is a 200cc bike & changing the bike to R15 would be a kind of downgrade & a p220 would not make any sense as it would be just like upgrading a bike for just 20cc.

Don't worry I won't curse any fellow members , I ruled out the Bull because of the same problems faced with my current bike, I feel the R15 is in different league all together and I feel that I would be able to handle it LOL
