Think...
Dude the bikes you mentioned have around Rs.20,000 price difference. Are you sure it's a choice between the two. The R15 is of different class both performance and style wise. If you can afford the R15 then the only competition in that segment would be the Karizma ZMR. If you're considering the Fazer, for a lot less money, it's still a fine looking bike.

Nothing can beat a Bullet or RE. Apart from that I think that neither Fazer nor R15 have a exclusive road presence. FZ16 has the best road presence when it comes to Yamaha bikes, I always give a look at a guy owing a FZ and don't even look at a Fazer, a true bad design, out of propotion from every angle. Best in current bikes people still get attracted towards the person owing a ZMA.

I chose the Fazer over R15 because I knew I'd be doing a lot of city riding. It has better economy and has a more comfortable sitting position. Most importantly if you drop it, you don't mess up any panels as it has a crash guard which the R15 does not. Plus I didn't like the R15's skinny rear wheel. And most obviously there's also the price difference.
Most wannabe kids have purchased R15s these days... though its a nice bike I prefer the Fazer. I don't know how much people would admire the R15 but I know I get second glances quite often even on the Fazer.

R15 any day
Hey Buddy,
I'm an R15 user and i'll share you my experience with it. i own a red R15 (2010 model) . it has been past 3 months i'm using her and i'm falling in love with her everyday. But your question was on road presence rather than performance so. here is my comment ,
When ever i stop in signals i get a lot of attention from others(Provided my bike is Clean with out any dirt on it
). i am enjoying it, i feel like i have changed to a celebrity. i had cops stopped me just to ask about the price of the bike and millage,(Not kidding). i had people asking about it's top speed, Price.. and all these people gave me a one common comment . they said it's a very good looking bike. That's make me more proud about it. yeah even last Thursday two guys in auto rickshaw came across to me asking about the bike at the signal. I thought these things would never happen as R15 was around for sometime now but. yes these things really happens. So i guess you understand what i was trying to tell.. Get the bike and enjoy it.
Now other than the Looks the main Upside of the Bike is it's handling and the road Behavior.. it will make you smile when you take a curve on road on 100 KMPH
test drive it and decide with your heart..sigpic

Max Speeds : 170 KMPH - (Ford Fiesta - 2010)

better road presence
thanks guys...i thnk ill go with the r15,but the thing which buggs me evrytime i decide on r15 is my height,im a 6ft guy and the bike dont suit me,coz its short compare to fazer, and the tires are too skinny,so has anybody in xbhp removed the stock tyres..if yes, then plz briefly write your experience about the negatives you faced after it,coz someone told me that it affects the swing arm of the bike....thanks..AS24

Inspite of having an R15 since 2 years, I must say the Fazer has better road presence.
That question answered.
Now, coming to performance, you can forget about comparisons. The R15 can beat the Fazer with 2 gears left, that is the kind of difference in power we are talking about.
Again there is a lot of difference in the way a sportbike behaves, vis a vis a street bike does-power delivery, comfort, stance, chassis, technology, everything. Take your pick according to your preferences-nothing is good or bad. If its right for you then its good.
But I would surely like to say, if you do choose the R15, the best handler we got in the Indian market, upsizing the rear tyre will be like castrating it.Quench my thirst with gasoline!
