What would be the best between these machines?
    1. Activa- is it value for money? decade old technology.
    2. Rodeo- has doubt about quality and heard it gives insanely low mileage.
    3. Duro- value for money but Comfortable?
    4. Pleasure- value for money but is not it underpowered? Too feminine?

      2. Rodeo- has doubt about quality and heard it gives insanely low mileage.
Rodeo is leaning to performance side, don't know about the mileage
      3. Duro- value for money but Comfortable?
      Dont know about this one
      4. Pleasure- value for money but is not it underpowered? Too feminine?
Yup very true,ts a feminine bike, mostly used by the girls and uncles
Why don't u consider the Honda Dio?decent power and flickabilty through the traffic, good looks absolutely suited for the guys .choose between Rodeo & Dio

Thanks for the reply but It couldn't help me as that thread starter has different criteria and mine has different. She is girl of 5'2'',46kgs and I am 5'8'' guy with 58-60kg weight.

          >>I would like to have a little more power as I used to ride motorcycle not so gently and scooter will be no exception. But does more power definitely mean more acceleration? Because overdrive says Pleasure(7bhp) has less 0-60 timing than new Activa(8.1bhp) which has little bit more power on paper.

          >>And I could not wish for a Karizma like spine pampering comfort from a scooter but a decent ride quality will be my second point.

          >>And of course Less maintainability cost.

Actually I am confused between Activa and Pleasure~6k cheaper than the previous one.

There're very few riders who love scooters & unfortunately, in India, scooter market is way too long to catch up with the trend. I wouldn't mind buying a TMAX 250 for around 4L (not more than this) as the comfort of luggage, riding comfort along with power makes it ideal for touring.

I would like to have a little more power as I used to ride motorcycle not so gently and scooter will be no exception
Riding a automatic geared scooter is different from a motorcycle. For that matter riding a 2S & 4S are also different. So the point is, you can enjoy the power of scooter provided you learn how to ride it different than a motorcycle. In city rides it may not be possible to see the power, but yes on suburbs & expect no more than 70 Kmph on safe & sane riding.

            PS - I own a Activa

Bullet proof reliability comes standard with this scooter...

                2. Rodeo- has doubt about quality and heard it gives insanely low mileage.
The most fun to drive scooter in India....but I have also heard quality and lower FE issues..!

                3. Duro- value for money but Comfortable?
                4. Pleasure- value for money but is not it underpowered? Too feminine?
Unitil the 109cc engine was not launched in India by HMSI, was Activa considered as underpowered..?

Anyways among these Activa would be the best bet...

However, if you can, then consider Access125 as well. It is India's best scooter with loads of power and better torque spread to enable much better load carrying and weight pulling capabilities. Added to that Telescopics come standard on the scoot which many people overlook.

@Devil - I've this problem of recommending between Access 125 & Activa (109). How do you see make a choice if you were to make one?

I love the handling of Access 125 compared to Activa, but like you said the word "Bullet Proof" is what is missing with Access 125.

How do you see the differences?

If this question would be specific to me, I would go ahead and book an Access rightaway. I did not have very good experiences with the two Honda products in our family but I still take that a 'by-chance' impact.

Coming to your "bullet proof" reliability thing, Activa has been in the market since 2001-02 and the name it has carved in the minds speak that word from within. But frankly speaking, I feel its slightly overpriced (in fact most of Hondas products are). Suzuki's have also been reknowned for the quality they provide worldwide. Talking in Indian terms, we all know the quality displayed by typical Suzuki's warhorses like shogun, shaolin, Fiero, samurai etc.
And with passing time, I see Access also making a very good quality benchmark in its segment.

                    Cutting it short:

                    1) Access has much better load carrying capability than Activa which is very handy when we are seated two (especially with the kind and size of females we have after 32-35 years ).

                    2) Access has the best torque spread. It comes right from the low end to the top end

                    3) And then we always tend to forget the telescopics which are so much a boon for an already 'spine breaking' ride (scooters) we are choosing. And this fact makes Access provide better and plusher ride quality as well.

                    4) Access has better handling than Activa. I never found Activa to be a good handler but yes a worthy mention goes to Dio which I still feel is the best handler in India...

PS: Above mentioned points are only my view of looking at these two scooters, yours may vary. Kindly dont pawn upon me

Owning an Activa myself & ridden Access for several 100 Kms, I have this dilemma running within me Activa or Access & hence I posted the question to you. I'm sure your points will be of very helpful to the community.

Very true; right from Jazz to CRV, they're overly priced.

Come GS150R, we witnessed the clutch cable broken in 4 months of time that clocked couple 1000 Kms & we were like

Well not sure how Access scores over Dio as I've not ridden Dio; But I feel Access is light compared to Activa. Activa makes me feel like "give more" but the vehicle isn't pushing enough. While Access feels "treat gentle" but the vehicle pushes itself. Probably the torque factor.

But one thing for sure - Bullet Proof is what I feel with Activa too.

Activa was my first choice. But here,Activa dlx is 51k+ with those silly must buy accessories though honda website says 48k+. half lakh+ for a 110cc scooter!! Bloody honda dealers!:-(
And yes guys..Thanks for trying to help me out.

hey dude i own a rodeo completed 800+ kms till date no problem, suspension is good, powerful enough to climb a mountain top with ease, good acceleration and pickup, mileage around 42 in city in highway around 45 -47.
Higher ground clearance, Sym engine is a excellent performer man.Plus the front fuel filling option is a boon for bikers as we dont need to get down and hold the seat like other scooters.Complete digital display

Some how i feel activa is more like a ladies bike.No offence meant to activa owners.

Bought it. It is 43317/- Quite good for ladies and oldies. Light weight and easy handling. Adequate power and torque but I think it would not be easy to pull a heavy pillion. Total load it can carry is only 130!

Though Dio used to be a good handler, now the Aviator and Flyte are the best handlers of all the scooters currently available in India.

Handling is a combination of stability, cornering capability, and braking. Aviator has best of all the three. The chasis of Flyte is excellent and aides in peg-scraping. Access has great straight-line stability but the braking and quick turning is not as great as Aviator and Flyte.
