  • CB Unicorn OR Unicorn Dazzler?

    Hey guys.
I am new to xBhp. I'm 19, from bangalore and this would be my first bike.
I'm very keen on getting a Honda as my first bike. Two of my friends have pulsars and i've been riding them a lot and am a lil bored of it.

I've been reading a lot here lately about the two above mentioned bikes. The feedback from ownership threads has been very positive with an occasional problem.

I liked both the bikes and am well aware of the differences between the two. (Latter comes with tubeless tyres, no Kick start, Digital console, rear discs and different styling and a marginal increase in power output).

The on-road price for the bikes here in bangalore are:
    CB-Unicorn: 71,250/-
    Dazzler: 75,240/-

The prices are exclusive of accessories.

I am confused as to which of the two to choose. Both look good to me and feel smooth (Haven't had a chance to ride the dazzler).

My biggest doubt is, Is the Dazzler worth the premium of 4k bucks to be paid?
How much difference does the rear discs and tubeless tyres make to the ride and performance? Yes, cost is a concern as i wouldnt want to pay extra for no significant difference.
I'd be booking it soon, say, in a week. I'd like to know which of the two to choose.

    Thank you,
    Shankar

You are paying the 4k premium for the following:
      • Nissin rear disc brake unit (very costly), helps in better stopping.
      • Digita console (with clock) that you can fancy.
      • Light weight (138 kgs now) with low saddle hight.
      • Rear wider tyre (110) for more stability.
      • Tubeless tyres (you can avoid pushing bike till puncture shops and avoid getting stranded in the middle of night on road).
      • Styling obviously better than old Unicorn, which just looks plain and bland.
      • Retuned engine with nice power at upperband for better cruising on highways.
If you feel the above are not justified, you can happily stick to CB Unicorn.

Personally my choice would be Dazzler over CB Unicorn.

Dazzler costs over 75k in Bangalore............
        Holy Cow......

How much does the FZ16 cost ther..?

Anyways, Dazzler has got tubeless tyres and the 'new-ness' factor going in its favor, I would still feel Unicorn might be a better choice for you.

Not to confuse you, but do you dislike GS150R....???
        2002 - Pulsar 150 Classic (Still owned)
        2005 - Pulsar 150 Dtsi (Still owned)
        2006 - Eterno (sold)
        2008 - Dio (Owned)
        2009 - Pulsar 220 DTSi

Just checked out the dazzler in showoom. Pretty impressed by its overall looks and quality. Will be quiet amazed if you choose Unicorn over Dazzler. I would get Dazzler without second glance at Unicorn. Yup! as "@Satyamzma" said, it feels kind of smaller than Uni. Anyway they are all small motorcycles so it doesn't make a difference for me.

FZ costs about 2k more in Panache motors. I've heard mileage is a problem with the FZ.
I'm not really confident about going for a Suzuki, and not particularly impressed by the GS150R.
And as you guys said, Dazzler is certainly my favourite. I would go for it anyday over the CB. But my dad thinks Unicorn would do the job. Hence the dilemma.
Bigger, not really a concern. Better, yes, that i feel the Dazzler is.
So i'll go ahead with the dazzler?

the dazzler would be the better choice over the unicorn anyday. You dont change your bike every month or very frequently. Right? So take the best bike available so that you may not repent later.
