It has been some time since I visited xBhp and am quite impressed with the site. It's great to see the passion everyone here has for two wheels.
Well a bit about myself. Been living and working here in Dubai for the past 19yrs. Started riding here back in 2004 on a nice little Suzuki RF400. It was a great bike that gave me miles and miles of riding pleasure. Met up with lots of like minded guys who are now good friends. It was always fun riding with these guys, all on 600 and above class bikes, me on my little 400 with the throttle twisted all the way and the speedo pegged to the max.
After almost 2yrs, decided to go in for an upgrade. Got myself a new CBR600RR. Nice bike very user friendly. But 8 months later had an accidentin in which the bike was a total loss. Luckily for me, I was wearing a full kit, which literally saved me from a whole lot of pain.
Well after that, cooled my heels for a bit. But do you think I could wait. No. So looked around and got an almost new (600kms on the clock) R6. Now that was an eye opener. Rode for a couple of months on the road and then started doing track days. Man, thats when the fun really started. The track is the place for the R6, after 10K rpm, hang on. That did it for me. What with a few incidents on the road that involved friends, I decided to go all in for track use only. Used the bike for almost three years with lots of track days and sold it last November.
Now this is when it became a bit of a hard choice. Stay with Yamaha or go for something else. Well I went for somethig else. Picked up a 2011, ZX 6R. Now, this is a great bike. I have been riding the road, going for a couple of Friday rides and it behaves perfectly. Now I thought I would have to change things on the bike once I went to the track. But on a stock machine with everything stock, it was brilliant on the track. Did everything I wanted and even more. Imagine what it would be like once I have made it a proper track bike.
Will try and keep you all updated. Here are a few pictures of my past rides and present one as well.
Keep on riding.
And most of all BE SAFE.
