  • Hello Riders! DIY guy here!

    Hey all,
its good to be amongst people who think beyond commuting on two wheels. I hav been active on another web site Team-bhp with same handle Dustom_99
I am Dushyant Tomar from Haridwar, Uttarakhand.A mechanical engineer, Ex-NDA, and a bike builder .
I am currently chasing of an elusive world land speed record for Turbo Diesel/Bio-Fuel motorcycle.
My lastest Project is India's First and only Turbo Diesel Motorcycle. 1.5l Turbo Diesel CRDI , based on Hyundai D4FA 1500cc VGT Intercooled motor 110bhp/240nm .
Currently project is in Road Test phase, having achieved 169kph, and looking good for 200kph by end of this month.

My previous Projects have been- 1000cc Custom Cruiser based on g10b from Zen with Maintainence Free Shaft Drive. Another one being College Project based on same engine but with Bullet gearbox and chain final drive.

I love Touring on 2 wheels, and usually do it without a preplan. Planned Trips are not my cup of tea, simply kills off the unknown elements. I have done most of my bike riding on hill and high passes of Uttaranchal. I usually ride with just 1-2 friends, Larger group is a crowd.

Videos can be caught at my you tube handle - dustom999. with url : www.youtube.com/user/dustom999 .
i will upload pics my current project and previous projects shortly. Pic currently attached is of 1000cc cruiser i build last year.

If you guys wanna know more or have some questions , i would be happy to answer.

Thanks and its good to be here.

From a humble college project to a diesel-burning surface missile, you have continually defied convention to create pieces having your unique imprint.

Have read exhaustively about your exploits in the Spring-in-spring, hyduralic brake systems, gearbox and drive setups.

And like any good steel, the times have tempered you to fine grade.

Everybody has an inner voice. Only few dare to listen to it.

      Welcome to xbhp Dushyant.

                Thanks everyone.
SnS or SoverS suspension or should i call it jugad suspension was something we did in our very first project in college. we were in 3rd year and bajaj came for campus recruitment. although being in 3 rd yr that time we were not to be appearing for placement, still we showd our project to there team.
may be it is that one off incident, and no one copied noone, but very next year there was a motorcycle in market with coil over coil suspension and they patented it it SNS.
Present project is way beyond what we started with, it was a bullet frame chopped and rigged, light little zen motor, conventional gearbox. chain from engine to gearbox and from gearbox to wheel. It seemd to us what a rocket ship we are developing, but now when i look back in time, it really was a schoolboy's engineering. Lot of Non educated people would be able to do that i guess.

Now so many years later, things are different. Used to have 5-6 thinking hats in our college project, now its just me. every single thing big or small, needs to be planned concieved and executed by me all alone.
past two years i have had some breakthrough in technology which have lifted the limit of power and torque we can have in a bike. Also motorcycles with Multi Fuel capability are now a reality.
I mean there are Big Bad*** bikes like Bosshoss and some even V-12 motorcycles, and i absolutely love them, but 99.9% of them have either 2 step auto tranny or no tranny at all. (probably they dont need tranny )

I will list down some of the important milestones here and would go in detail when i post some sort of thread in DIY section.
                1. Frame based on Anti-roll bar concept eliminating exactly half of the vibes.
                2. Power assisted Clutch Operation, with accurate control and feedback.
                3. Use of OEM gearbox.
                4. Use of OEM Clutch.
                5. Drive shaft With CV as well as Slide Mechanism.
                6. Low COG mounting of rear Suspension.
                7. Use of Latest ecu governed motor ,by-wire technology and PUC systems(Any Motor, any capacity)
                8. Shaft Jack elimination.
                9. Gear selector sequencial shift ( Not my design, just copied it ).

I think i have Bored you guys to death by now, rest of this borin stuff will continue when i make a seperate thread .
                Thanks n cheers!
