    thats the equation every biker should be aware of ..

    Hi! This is Som.

    Finally the wait is over and my membership is approved. is the profile name confusing or even irritating to some. sorry but I could not think of anything better. it is the equation for brake horse power.

    I love riding bikes.. so much so that I don't ride them regularly any more. regularly I mean for commuting or in the city traffic. I feel biking is (and especially so for me) strictly for recreation. I don't own any bike currently.

    Previously I had a Hero Puch 3G. Believe me it was closest to the biking nirvana (...!) in ultra small package. of course it was troublesome to ride and engage gears but then it had one gem of an engine. i would always start off with a small wheelie and I have drag raced against many then popular 4stroke 100 cc bikes (read splendour etc) at signals and invariably I have stayed ahead of them till 40 kmph.

    Ohh sorry! as of now well I have a BMW r1100r, Yamaha R1 and a Ducati with me. ok ok they are Scale Model for now and that is one of my hobbies.

                  In your id lies the fact that mystifies us at first, then makes sense, then makes us go crazy

                  Never understood why ppl liked Hero Puch so much till I saw my bro zip around on it ... power to weight ratio is its thing.

                            thanks ravi.. well comin                            g to the equation the real/correct equation is
                            horsepower = torque x rpm / 5252

                            i just let go of that constant for the sake of more readability .
