Thanks for that Sunny, much appreciated. I'm reading lots at the minute. I have a 770 page PHd thesis by Maz Harris, Myth and Reality in the Motorcycle Subculture. Maz was a Kent (England) Hells Angel (killed on his bike) and documented much of the life and goings on of the culture surrounding the HA and the bike club ethos in general. Interesting stuff.
I am particularly interested in the evolution of our culture. I've been part of it since the mid-70s and I know most of how we got here. Unfortunately I can't reference 'me'!
Any info is GREATLY appreciated and welcomed. I'd like to compare the west with India and from your article in Bike India, I see that there are parallels which I must admit to being pleased about. Global biking brotherhood is where it's at.

Wow! What an intro.
It is interesting to see how a westerner sees our biking culture which is hovering somewhere between "non-existent to negligible" for the moment and moving northwards despite recession. Today you have maybe around 200 Indian bikers headed to Leh, our Mecca of bikers. 20 years ago it was probably 30.
There is also the aspect of accomplishing something, especially for serious tourers.
Hope you get what you are looking for your dissertation. We will always be around to help out. Just ask.The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Thanks guys. An Indian friend at university, Riddhi, said that I'd find the people in India to be friendly and helpful.
So true.... Thanks for the welcomes and the offers of help and info.
MUCH appreciated.
