    Hello Bikers !!

My name is Abhishek a.k.a. Roxan . I am very happy to join this forum known as xBhp , since bikes have always fascinated me and this is the place to be. Although, I haver joined some time back, I did not get the time to post my thread in this forum. But Finally...... Here I am ... and I am here to Stay!

I am based in Kolkata and work for the Information Technology industry.

I started out as a biker at the age of 15, learning to drive my Dad's Yezdi ....... He also had a Bullet! ( I was only alowed to stare at it ) . Since then I had developed a strong inclination of having a Enfield in my stable.

I brought my first bike ( Bajaj Pulsar 150cc)....rode it for a year and a half and then switched over to the Hero Honda CBZ ..... Man What a Bike it was !!!! Still regret selling it off for 15 K after riding i for just over 2 years

A few months down the line ... I became the brought owner of "The Dark Knight" ... My Magic Black Royal Enfield Thunderbird . This is my present ride .... and Man!!!! ..... IT ROCKS !!!!

I ride it on a regular basis, The ODO reads 15063 kms and it is nearly two years old now. Attached is the a few pics of my steed, and I love it dearly.

The Bike has been fitted with some extra accesories as well
    • RADO Original Three Rimmed Alloys
    • Free flow Goldstar Silencer....... Sounds good man ... get the feel of a somewhat old thumper
I drive it regularly to my work , and it has never betrayed me on the way. Even on the coldest mornings, I can ignite the engine with just one rhythimic Kick.

"Dark Knight" rides through the city as a dream, and it flies low on the highways.

"Believe in life after death."....... Mess with my Bike and you'll find out !

-2007 Royal Enfield Thunderbird (Dark Knight)

Welcome aboard, Roxan! Enjoy your stay!

Mistake or again my limited knowledge of Angrezi coming into play?

2 years and 15063 kms only, you might be flying low but you are not flying enough.

Calcutta is a small city compared in surface area to where you live. Where you live, daily commuting can mean 100+ kms per day for a LOT of people 6 days a week, for some even 7. In Calcutta, the concept of a week does not exist. Nor are there fixed working hours. All of this is pretty fluid in nature. Hence 15000kms in less than 2 years is a BIG lot of Kms!
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

I do undertand this fact that kolkata is a small city compared to some other meropolitans, and may be a long daily commute in kolkata's context may add up to just 20 or so kms.

But as Roxan has mentioned that his Dark knight not only rides through city its also fly low on Highways.

So if only the rides through city would have been taken into account, he might be doing fairly good from Kolkata's standards but as he fly low on highway too, i will still say he is not flying enough.

                        Hello again all,

I would like to Thank You all individually for appreciating my intro and welcoming me aboard.

@ BANDHAV : Apologies for the language as it was my error.
                        @ Jonak : Yes I am a Bengali !

I totally agree with Ken cool as Kolkata is a small city indeed, and I commute daily around 25-28 kms max.The traffic here is also very dense as compared to the roads, So commuting on a dally basis can sometimes take a toll on you....... This is just my personal feel.

"Believe in life after death."....... Mess with my Bike and you'll find out !
