Greetings to all fellow members. I'm Ramkanta Gogoi from Guwahati, Assam. Currently enjoying my retired life. I've been an avid reader of this forum since 2008. Am elated to be able to interact with you all.

My very first experience with a two-wheeler was my elder brother's TVS 50. It was bought some months after its launch. Nice little moped. Back then, I had just started working. So I wasn't able to afford one for myself. In 1983, when the RD350 was launched, I fell head over heels for it. But, the meagre salary of mine gave me a reality check and I had to try to forget my first love. In 1986, I got married and became father to a boy in 1987. So, a vehicle became necessary for the family's transportation. This led to the purchase of a used Bajaj Super. Used it till 1995 and it was replaced by a Bajaj Chetak. Meanwhile, my son was growing up and it was becoming difficult for the three members to travel on a scooter. This led to the purchase of my first car, the fully loaded Daewoo Matiz SP, in 1999. In the same year, I replaced my Chetak with a TVS Suzuki Max 100. My first experience with a motorcycle after riding scooters and mopeds. Used it for a good 7 years, but shifted back to a scooter(Honda Eterno) in 2006 as it is more practical than a bike. Had a trouble-free ownership experience with it. In 2021, I sold it for a mere 9000 bucks and bought a TVS Jupiter. Occasionally, I get to ride my son's TVS Apache 160 RTR. Last year, I got a chance to ride it to my native place, 180 kms. away from where I've settled permanently. It reminded me of the days when the Max 100 used to be my daily ride. However, that long ride had taken a toll on my lower back. Since then, my wife banned long rides for me. There are a lot of unexplored places in the North East. I wished to ride to those places, but my health says otherwise. So, with some like minded people, we have started exploring those places by car.

On four wheeler front, I owned a Daewoo Matiz, Fiat Sienna 1.6 and a WagonR F10D in the past and now have a 2009 Fiesta 1.6S for personal use and a 2014 Scorpio 4WD for long trips with the family.

Apart from bikes and cars, I have a special interest in cooking and love to spend time watching my granddaughter grow up.

I am sorry for such a long introduction post. I just revved my thought flow. A sincere "Thank You" to the moderators for accepting my membership request. The whole community is awesome and helpful. I may not be able to contribute much when it comes to technicalities, but might be a better participant with my two cents wherever possible and within my knowledge.
