  • Hello friends...

    Hi friends i am soundar,
i am a common guy from chennai who has great passion about automobiles.

The biking passion in me started when i was a kid (as told by my parents).
I started to learn biking from my dad's YAMAHA RX 100 (the legend which has its unique space in indian biking history).

I am currently driving my bajaj caliber which has crossed 1,25,000km for the past 6 years, actually it is a second hand bike. when i bought it, it has clocked nearly around 60,000 kms. now it has been running on new bore and valve kit due to its poor maintenance from the first owner.

Before that i used to drive always with my dad's RX 100. I was looking forward to buy a new bike, the bike thrilled me after RX 100 are YAMAHA R15, KTM duke 200 and 390. Due to some financial constraints i couldn't buy a new ride. hopefully looking for a new job.

For the past 3 years i have been observing xbhp, finally joined the group.

    Intro Approved.

Hi Soundar, Welcome to Xbhp. We're glad to have passionate bikers like you.
RX 100 is indeed a legend, the revs don't need to rise and what torque it gives! And, one of my buddies also has a Caliber, and amazingly these Calibers have been known to last really long. There's some serious Kawasaki expertise in that engine, no doubt. I have ridden it too.

Its good that you decided to join the group. You can meet like minded bikers in Chennai too, in the Chennai G2G thread... We have Get2gether threads so that like minded bikers meet each other. Browse the forum to find the thread and join some meetings if you wish to...

            Welcome to xbhp "Bruce Wayne".
Hope you get your dream bikes soon, until then Caliber isn't bad at all. Always liked the macho looks and the exhaust note of caliber, and
also the tag line : Caliber, The Unshakeable!

It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

              Re: Hello friends...

Thank you sir. Absolutely kawasaki engine is an good example of relaiability factor. I have ridden caliber, from chennai to yelagiri which is around 480kms(to and fro) without any mess. Impressively my bike age is around 14yrs(1999 model).

Best of luck for you to sir.
Though like your sense of humour, i am a great fan of Batman especially series directed by nolan. I am always wondering about, what if our city has a BATMAN. I will find Batman and get a ride from his Batpod(the monster bike with two fat wheels).

              Thank you sir.

Like you said caliber isn't bad at all. I ride it 1500kms monthly without any mess but i am always prone to puncture, i think that was due to some bad road conditions.

Caliber is truly a unshakeable bike. considering its age(14 years), kilometres it clocked(1,25,xxx), i can easily ride upto 480kms within 12hrs( including 2 hour rest) without any mess, that's a great part of Enginnering. Kudos Kawasaki.

My bike still delivers mileage of 60(harsh driving) to 68(sedate driving).
