I'm Rivu from Howrah, Kolkata, I have always been intrigued by bikes and I was crazy about them, I used to borrow my friends' bike previously because I desperately wanted that feel of an engine roaring between my legs, but on the 24th of September, 2010, my dad gifted me my first bike, a Yellow R15 v1, it's the most memorable day of my life yet, and today I wish my first bike was not an R15.
You know what they say, 'A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing', Well, the same applies to me,
back in 2010, I was a complete novice in biking, and getting addicted to the R15's thrill took no time at all, then came the series of crashes, and the hefty repair bills, one fine afternoon, around 2 years from today, I was cornering at a speed of 100 kmph at a very sharp turn on the NH-2, somehow I lost control, and boom!! 40% of my body skin was grazed in the accident, it took me two months to recover and caused immense pain during that time.I had to learn the hard way, it made me realize the importance of safe biking, safety equipment and the need to know how your bike works, and how to control it rather than just ride like a lunatic.
I Googled, I searched and found a lot of things, such as downshift braking, trail braking, counter-steering, etc. but the most important thing I learned, THE ROAD IS NOT A RACETRACK, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.
I slowly learned more about the R-15, about it's anatomy, it's technology and how to make it respond the way I want to.
1 year back I sold the bumblebee and bought a R15 V2, I test drove everything in the market at that time, in the 150 - 220 cc segment, and nothing could be compared to the handling of the R-15.
A lot of time has passed since then, I found out about Xbhp, and I simply want to make friends and know more from the experts, and share my experiences with everyone.
