  • Busy with conversion on RE Classic 500

    Hi All,

This is my first post of xBhp. Just wanted to say and give an update on what's keeping me busy these days.
After my fuel pump failed last month, I decided to replace the EFI with a Carburettor from IndiMotard. All went find except for that the clip that holds the Carb in place does not fit the new Carb so I am going to visit the RE service centre tomorrow and get a bigger one (Machismo 500).
The only thing I have no clue about is the ECU. The engine light is now constantly ON (because a few sensors are not present now - Fuel Pump is gone, Fuel Injection sensor unplugged).

    Cheers!!!

    Hi Abhimanyu

    Welcome to xBhp

Do start a separate detailed thread of your conversion from FI to Carb for the benefit of other bulleteers.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Soon I am going to write a detailed thread on the conversion. I am waiting to get a clip (that keeps the Carb in place). The existing one from previous Carb does not fit. Once I have it, I am going to run it another 100 Kms (100 already done with new Carb) to make sure everything is fine. Real test would be in January when we plan to ride 3000+ Kms for BOBMC Rider Mania.
