  • Hello People !!

So, I used to love cars. I used to be on TBHP whole day reading, writing, chatting; thinking about what mods to get done on my cars. I spent a fair share on my cars, mostly most of my pay-check each month.

This was all till about a couple of months back, when I came across THE 'Indian Scout'. Since then, I have had many sleepless nights, and this time not about cars, but an Indian. And, it hasn't just stopped there. Since then, I am now a regular visitor to XBHP as well as countless other websites reading reviews about cruisers - a category which I never seemed to love till recently. My car modding has stopped completely and all my efforts have gone in opening a recurring deposit for the down-payment of one of the two beauties I am thinking about now - THE INDIAN SCOUT and HD 48 (inclined towards scout more due to 48's mug sized tank, and scout's versatility).

To be frank, I am a super novice in riding bikes. I must've not ridden bikes for more than 25-30 times maximum, and that too for short trips. Heck, I have not even ridden a RE myself. The best bike I have been on is the one lying in my parking - a beautiful naked Honda Hawk NT650. It has been with us since close to 25 years now, with my uncle mostly riding it and me appreciating it from afar. I am not even sure if buying scout or 48 would be such a good idea for a first timer, but I am not sure I would want any other bike to be my first one. It's like wanting Angelina Jolie as your first girlfriend.

I am now hoping for a bit of help from you guys in deciding my bike for the future, and helping me come upto speed on riding bikes and lots of other things that go with it.

Oh yeah, and before I forget, my name is Abhay Zutshi, a reluctant IT professional with an interest in music (listening and playing), cars and now BIKES !! I also love to drive on long trips with Ladakh being in my next to-do list, and hopefully, not by car, but by my lovely Jolie.

Hope to have a wonderful time here and Godspeed, my fellow riders !!

    Hi Abhay

    Welcome to xBhp

Since you are saving up to pay for your Indian/ Harley, why don't you buy a smaller capacity bike (second hand?) and sell it off once you have gotten your dream machine!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

        Hi Abhay,
        Welcome to the brotherhood.
May you get your dream bike soon.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

          Re: Hello People !!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I was in fact planning on restoring my old bike, get a feel of fast bikes on it before actually diving down to buy my scout.

Also, I've heard they are planning to get ckd imports instead of cbus pretty soon. Hopefully, the price will also drop down a bit. Wishful thinking.

Thanks a lot buddy. The price is the only thing keeping me buying the scout. I am looking for something around the range of 8-9 lakhs maximum. Saw the scrambler yesterday and man, does it look hot. Also, it is price at 7.5 L OTR; an appetising package indeed.

Haha. Thanks man. The scout will burn a serious hole in my pocket, but what a bike. I am still looking at other options like 48, scrambler and Vulcan s when that launches. Very confused. I wanted one under 8. So, in that regard, I found scrambler and Vulcan s to be a good fit. Saw hd street and super low and not very impressed by them.

Yep. 8.8 ex showroom. It has a small tank, which is why I am not too excited about it. I am thinking in the perspective of long rides, esp Ladakh and similar.

If you are planning to hit ladakh and the baddest roads then the ducati scrambler is a pretty good option. But there will be one problem "mud splash " , the scrambler seems to have less protection form it .
