This is Saleem, a 36 year old from Hyderabad and someone who's trying to reclaim the lost passion for motorcycling. It all started when I was gifted a Hero Puch, when I was still in Intermediate. Later when I was doing my MBA (in 2001), I got the very popular splendour, yes again a gift from my parents. With Splendor, it was good fun in college as we regularly used to go for bike rides to various places around Hyderabad. It was all good with motorcycling, till I got married to my sweetheart in 2007 who then gifted me a Unicorn as she too enjoys riding with me. Unfortunately I did not utilize the bike much due to the new found fascination for cars, for practical reasons of course.
I was working out of Hyderabad for the last 4 years and that was when I rediscovered the joy of biking, especially since me and some of my colleagues were staying away from our families and so during the weekends we developed a hobby for photography and we rode to some really interesting places to hone and improve our photography skills. That is when I realized what I was missing and how I had fallen into the trap of comfort and convenience of the cars not realizing how my body and soul craved to be free and open on a bike instead. Now that I'm back to Hyderabad, after almost 8 years of married life, I want to reignite my passion for biking and for that I recently got myself a Duke 200. I've always been an outdoor person and I see this as a great opportunity to be a part of this esteemed forum and learn a lot about motorcycling (and probably photography as well
).I'm not very technical person, in terms of understanding bikes so I will contribute as much as possible to this forum in other ways possible by sharing my knowledge of traveling to different places as I have travelled well, especially in South India. Also, I hope I'm not too old to take part in rides organized by this community.
I look forward to meeting most of you and learn and enjoy as much as possible.Cheers,
Saleem.
