I haven't clocked many miles on the bikes I've owned, having started riding very recently. I own a rusty Yamaha RX135 4-Speed, a bike that has grown on me like I never thought possible. My love affair with 2-strokes goes back to my childhood, to when I first laid my eyes on an electric blue RD350. My first bike was my dad's old Kinetic Honda DX, and never had I imagined it to be as fun to ride as it proved to be; it sits gathering dust in my garage with a seized engine. I replaced it with the RX135 and I couldn't have chosen a better bike for my riding style and preferences.
As much as I love the little screamer, I've decided to add another bike to my stable - something that would let me go longer distances without fear of engine overheating and mechanical failures. I've narrowed down the Suzuki Gixxer SF as a pocket-friendly alternative to more heavy-duty touring machines, and plan to buy one soon. And while I can stretch my budget to get a Duke 390 or the likes, I'm hesitant to invest in an expensive bike that I'd have to discard at some point in favour of the on/off-roader machines like KTM Adventure 390 that might make it to the markets in the near future.
With a dilemma that's been sitting on my head like a 3-ton anvil over the past few months, I thought I best start getting active on xBhp. I'll be a frequent annoyance to the more experienced motorheads here once I get my new bike.
