  • Hello from pondicherry

Hi, I am Camille from Pondicherry. I have found this forum when I was looking about Chennai racetrack, because official website is actually down. I am very interested to go to practice on this racetrack because I like going fast (as I can).Just before starting to do that in France, I have moved to India. But driving fast here is difficult and really not safe.

I don’t have spent a lot of time yet on this forum for getting information about Chennai racetrack, but I will do.

If somebody have information about how to go to practice on this racetrack (costs, dates…) and where to get safety gear (I have bring my helmet from France, but I would like also that kind of things .

I think I will buy one R 15 just for practicing on the racetrack (I prefer to have something more powerful, but no money for the moment). And one R 15 is better than nothing, because I cannot wait anymore.
Before, with my cars, I always made some race on the road with some friends (that was not safe, I know, but at this time I never take care about me). But after meet somebody (one Ducati lover lol) who going to drive his bike only on racetrack (because like me, he like (love ?) to go fast). He has changed my mind about that (safety), because that is really more safe than public road. At this time, I also started to be interested by bike because that gives more feelings than cars with less money.

    See you on the racetrack

    Introduction Approved.

    Welcome to xBhp Camille.

Are you originally from France? Would love to know what kind of machines have you owned in the past before shifting to India. And there are many here who would be able to provide you with ample information regarding the track, down south.

As far as your query for the various riding gear goes, there is a separate, dedicated thread titled 'Riding Gears' which you can follow.

      hi,
Yes I am French. But not a big past about bike in France. Only have one 125cc scooty. But before going on one racetrack in south-west of France (Pau-arnos racetrack, there is one video on my website about my friend bike and this racetrack, i had only one camera at this time but not bike).
I was only interested by cars. I have spend all my money in one used (10 years car) Vauxhall Calibra turbo (2000cc supercharge engine) and some engine tuning. But loved this car. Great acceleration feeling... But one year after (too much old part and no service), i have almost loose one wheel in one strong turn... and no money for doing repair.
Then I buy one 125 cc scooty and start to like 2 wheels riding. And after I meet this friend who show me racetrack. And i "fall inlove" about his bike. Amazing bike (for me). One Ducati 999R...
Then my friend have look with his other bike's friends for getting me one used bike ( if not leaving to India, maybe bought one used ducati 900ss or one Yamaha R6, i am a little fustrated about that now).

I hope, one day have one bike like ducati 999 or the new one 1198 (or smaller version 749 or 849)...

@Camille: Back in France, did you use to take your supercharged car to the track? Just curious to know.
          :)

This car is dead, because just enough money for buy it and doing some engine tune by special mecanic guys. But after that no enough money for doing service and other things like that () .

I think that is not a good idea, because too heavy, only engine tuning (no brake change or other things like that), old car for going on racetrack... Ok if doing that few minutes, but not more.

            Pictures

Tune (a little) one supercharge engine is not too much complicated, because just need to change supercharge management calculator (for change supercharge pressure in engine intake), then also increasing a little fuel pressure. This old engine bloc was strong, and possible to increase the power by 50% without any mecanic part change (only one bigger intercooler). But that is ok, if using this power temporaly.

Default (factory) maximun pressure is set to 0.6 bar (8.71 psi) and 0.9 (13.06 psi) for overboost (when open full throttle, giving some extra pressure for 2second). And with this engine (turbo) tune, maximun pressure is set to 1.15 bars (16.69 psi) and overboost at 1.5 bars (21.77 psi).

Some website sell this kind of kit Regal AutoSports C20LET Phase Kits
For mine, that was phase 3 kit.
But next time, i will spend less money for tune and more money for service for kepping cars alive (or bikes).
Four years for paying back credit, and just one year of using this car ...

This car give me some good feeling when accelerating (for me, but i am sure, with superbike bike, that is better).
            0-100km/h 6.5 s
            0-200 km/h 19 s

The biggest trip in one time (20h) was 1200 kms Pictures

That was a great car for outside city roads and freeways. (for an old car).

But now, i am interested by sport bikes.
