  • Hello fellow bikers !!

I'm Vikram, I'm 24, I'm from the coastal city of Mangalore. I own a Hero Ignitor motorcycle that I use for my daily city commutes and short trips outside the city. My family recently bought a car and I learnt driving it. Although I was really thrilled to learn and drive the car, I realised it isn't as fun as a motorcycle :-P . I bought my Ignitor as soon as I got my first job. Now I have gotten another job which I will be joining at the end of this year. So with a little more disposable income I have decided to upgrade my ride next year. At first I thought I ll get a pre owned alto car, since cars r supposed to be more convenient and comfortable than a bike right, but now I'm more inclined towards buying a better motorcycle since I like riding. I'm a sedate rider and I love refined engines. I have found the unicorn 160 or the cb hornet 160r suitable for me. So I'm really confused now as to whether to buy a pre owned alto or a new bike .. The classic heart vs mind thing :-P so help me out guys ..

That's all about me , and I'm really glad to be here :-)
    Thank you.

I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Welcome Vikram. The rider in me says, Havent you booked the bike already!?

But lets see this way. You mentioned your family already has a car. And i am gonna assume you are not married yet. So, no immediate requirement for a separate car for yourself (unless you really want one).

You already have a bike, a Hero Ignitor and I am gonna assume again, that the bike is not very old. You mentioned that you are already using it for short trips and daily commute.

You will upgrade your bike and you may like the feel of a 150-160cc bike and may want to upgrade to another higher capacity/featured bike soon. So why not skip one stage here, and go for That bike Now.

The way I see it, you already have a bike that fulfils the Commute and Short trip needs. You can wait and save some more for a bigger bike! I am sure you will be happy with your decision in the longer run!

Hello Vikram- Welcome man. I too am fresh off the assembly line in this forum I can quite understand your predicament and like you have mentioned that you're willing to wait it out another year- that is great as some awesome 250-400 CC machines are lined up for launch soon. And looking at the way the Indian Motor industry is gearing up- ABS and whatnots are being mandated. So it surely will be worth the wait. All the best!

                          Hi All
I am Rajesh! I am from Himalyan town of Manali in Himachal Pradesh. I am a passionate biker and 2 Stroke lover.
I am riding a Yamaha RX-135 since 1999 and loving it. Now a days i ride it for weekend drive for daily commute and sake of fuel efficiency i bought Bajaj Avenger 150 street.
I like Avenger but adreline rush and thrills generated by RX is something unique. Recently I went for a partial upgrade Since couldn't find all the OE Spares. Here is a pic!
                          Have a safe ride!
