I am happy to be a part of this forum.
I am from Bangalore who had been hopelessly dreaming of the mighty Ducati Monster 821 for couple of years until last year when my focus changed to the Triumph Tiger 800 XCX when I realized that street nakeds (Like the monster and the MT09) are massive beasts but are not going to satisfy my desire for long distance cross country travel. I have recently booked the tiger with Keerthi Triumph, Bengaluru and will be taking delivery in couple of months. The staff has been extremely helpful and friendly.
Although my plan was to buy the bike a little later this year but I was lured with a free Arrow Exhaust and a radiator guard (highly essential for offroading/indian roads) if I book the bike any sooner. So, there you go - I booked it with a lakh rupees. I am planning to pick up the bike in the end of July as I am arranging the down payment money in these months.
I have been an mediocre biker who owns an old 1972 RE bike and have done moderate rides with various biking groups. The experience was soul enlightening but my old machine had always trouble keeping up a faster speed, negotiate the craters on the road and handle long distance fatigue caused both to the machine and myself.
Chances are that I may sell it off with an extremely heavy heart 'cause I need some major restructuring of my finances as you know the tiger doesn't come cheap.
It would be really great if someone here can advise what details to look for while taking the delivery of the bike. I know asking the showroom for PDI sheet is one of them, but any other details would greatly help as I am first time new bike buyer.
I look forward discussing more with you guys in the days to come. I have seen some incredibly brilliant ownership reviews on the bike from you gents here in this forum. Its going to be one mighty experience talking to you folks here.
Cheers! Keep that rubber burning! Praise the road!
