Ever since childhood, I wanted to be a pilot officer in the Indian Air Force. I wanted to be a fighter jet pilot to be precise. I have a heart which loves machines.
I remember my childhood days, when my father had a Priya scooter. I grew up watching my father maintaining the scooter, the way he cared for it. And how much happy I used to be when he used to open the engine cover of the scooter, since I got to see, touch and feel the engine. Once while going somewhere, I requested him to take the scooter past 60kmph and like every guy I used to stand in front, just to feel that gush of wind on my face and what it feels like to go fast. It still resides in my heart somewhere. Probably my first crush, or maybe first love?

He sold it in 2000 after using it for good 11 years. Then came Suzuki Max100R. The one on which I learned to ride. Have done crazy things with her. I along with my cousins used to wake up early morning just to take out the bike quietly, go out for a ride on empty streets and carefully park the bike and sleep again.
The teenage love!
She bid us goodbye in 2006 only to be replaced by Hero Honda Super Splendor.
I wanted my dad to purchase Discover, as I was in love with it. While my dad wanted a simple bike. He didn't tell me that he would purchase it. I was heartbroken, when brought it in.
I didn't want the bike, it looked too simple. Well, somehow that too stayed for good 10 years. I never loved her, even though she was as faithful as she could be. I just couldn't come to terms with it and accept.
So, this January we sold it off and purchased Hero Achiever i3S. The bike I had wanted ever since. I love it's engine refinement and the price point at which it's available. I can say, the most affordable 150cc bike in the country.
The bike is used mostly by me. Haven't got much long riding experience apart from a few under 100kms trips here and there. Though, I aim to be a biker one day. Want to travel to places on my bike. I am still learning, understanding new things. Adapting better practices.
Now, I compulsorily wear the helmet even if I have to go somewhere less than 100 metres too. Planning to purchase riding gloves.
I am learning, becoming a better rider each day.
Back in my school days, like 2004-2008, my cousins and I used to chip in pocket money and buy Overdrive/Autocar magazines monthly and just loved to read them. Once a friend gifted me Overdrive magazine's 10th anniversary edition on my birthday.
Yes, that has been my level of love towards automobiles.
By the way, I am Pratik. Aged 26, a mechanical engineer by choice and an aspiring biker and a government officer.
My dream bike? ( ..that I can practically afford.)
Kawasaki Ninja 650
I absolutely love the bike. As rightly they call it "the sports tourer". The one that matches my taste.
That's it from my side.
Thanks for reading.
