I waited for more than 6 years to earn the tag of a biker!
Although people around me believe that I have been asking for a motorcycle from the day I was born.
Whenever someone met me up till a few days back, on first impression they were excited on hearing me endlessly talk about different motorcycles for hours at a stretch.
But it came as a shocking surprise to them when they heard that I do not know how to ride a bike and I have never ever straddled a motorcycle in my life.
They were confused that how can a person love something so much and still abstain from it.
Like all Indian households, my family too is afraid of the word 'two wheeler'. I grew up with a dream of covering vast distances on my motorcycle, and only after turning 18 I constantly asked or you could say begged for a motorcycle, but it was of no use as my parents had a phobia for two wheelers.
This continued for 6 years. And yes my parents still had an aversion for 'two wheels'.
On finally trying another time, they offered me the usual deal i.e. buy a new car if you want a new ride. Then it struck me, for them a motorcycle is just a means of transportation, like a car or a bus etc. They would have never understood what a motorcycle meant to me.
So I decided, it was a time to make my dream come true, even if that meant going against their will.
Everyone suggested that as I had never experienced a motorcycle before I should start with a 100 cc bike and gradually upgrade to a bigger bike.
But I knew exactly what would put a broad smile on my face every time I looked at it, so I went ahead and got myself this TVS Apache RTR 160.
PS: I wanted the matte blue edition, but had to settle for white as matte blue wasn't available!
