  • Hi From Bike Addict

Hello xBhp members, greetings from a Bengali living in Pune.

I am a bike lover who has been chancing upon xBhp forum posts for ages when troubleshooting and finally thought of joining the community. A proud owner of 7 bikes (soon to be 8), I love to take part in discussions about bikes and help others in their pursuits as much as I can.

Hope to be a good contributor in the forum or, at least, an avid reader.

    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Soumyajit

          Re: Hi From Bike Addict

Actually, it is 8 now as I got a Yamaha Enticer this morning :P I revel in getting used old bikes and restoring them to condition (with the help of my friend, I am not that mechanically savvy hehe). I have the following:

          1) Yamaha Gladiator 2008 model SS 125
          2) Bajaj Pulsar 150 2004 model (always wanted the round headlight version). Got one last month
          3) Another old model Pulsar gifted by a friend. He lost the papers so it is used as a donor bike.
          4) Hero Honda CBZ Star 2005 model ( modified with Karizma 2011 model. It is a work of art by my friend. Engine cover and everything looks like CBZ star but on the inside it is Karizma. So it is completely legal :P Visually the changes are Karizma Mac wheels and starter)
          5) Another Hero Honda CBZ star 2005 model kept as stock.
          6) Yamaha Enticer 2006 model. Work needed on it and my friend has already started modifying the front drum to disc :P
          7) Pulsar 2007 model, to be built to stock slowly. Got it for just 6,500K with clear papers.
          8) TVS Fiero FX 2004 model. Absolutely adore the looks of this bike. It is my hometown. Will get it fixed and restored once I go home on a long leave .

Currently looking for Suzuki Fiero 2004 model or later preferably, Bajaj Caliber 2004 model or up, Suzuki Shaolin and so on.. :P

          Thanks,
          Soumyajit

That's a nice list, I guess I'm really intrigued by no 4. Sound like a good sleeper bike.

Unluckily I'd sold my Dads Bajaj caliber (2001 yr) it was an amazing one though...(looked similar to the pulsar 150 ) [emoji852]️[emoji853].

You've got a nice list of bikes in your garage but why don't you preferred any new bikes ? Or why didn't you bought a RX 100 which most people love to have !!

Ahh would have loved to get my hands on the Cali :P Regarding RX 100, I would love one too but in Pune people ask exorbitant prices for one. I am not super rich so do not go for new ones usually. Yeah for the money I have spent for the 8 bikes and in getting them fixed, I could have gotten about 3 new bikes. But then again 8 vs 3

I'm amazed where do you find enough space to park so many bikes.

Has been the main issue throughout this journey. One bike is in hometown so scratch that. Out of the rest of the 7, one is a donor bike and is always in the garage. The rest of the 6 sort of alternate because when you have so many, there is always something being done on one or two of them be it servicing, being fixed, normal maintenance etc. So the max number I have to park is 4 usually. And I stay in a not-so-friendly-towards-batchelors-and-outsiders society so I am constantly hassled.

Just this morning my sleeper CBZ's rear tyre air was let out. I will get it filled tomorrow. Another time stone chips were filled in the silencer and used Karizma silencer ain't cheap. Bless my friend who somehow managed to cut the silencer, get stones out and weld it back properly. The chore was over for just 1400. Kicking the accelerator cover so accelerator sticks, stealing pieces of clothes kept for cleaning, letting out air are now so common I do not even get irritated any more.

                      Thanks,
                      Soumyajit

Damn, you seem to face a lot of abuse from folk around you. Guess, its the real love of motorcycles that keeps you going and consider those things as puny.
