  • Hi bikers! Need advice for a beginner enthusiast.

    Hello there!
I'm TVS Krishna, and i'm from Hyderabad, TS. I just turned 18 (yay) and I basically LOVE motorcycles. Right now, i don't have one to call my own, but i'm sure and ready to own one. And so, I asked my dad for one (prefereably 2nd hand; since i'm a beginner) and he gave me the budget range of 30k-60k. We settled upon a few models namely RTR 160, Pulsar 200NS, and a CBR 250R (GODDD I LOVE THIS BIKE!), and also a Karizma. Also, this will be used for weekend outings with friends, going to friend's places, and occasionally to the movies. Can anyone give me inputs and suggestions for the above question? I'd love to hear the members say something about this.

PS: If anyone's selling their bike for around 40k-60k, please lemme know. I'm open to offers too.

PPS :: I made a few graphical edits (mostly design changes) on the Hero Honda Karizma (a very versatile platform, I believe). If anyone wants to see them, I'll post it here. (also, I'm new to this forum scene; I know i'm late).

    So, thank you.

    Ride Safe.

Hello and welcome to the family. Glad to have you onboard.

While finding one that fits the budget is the key, also make sure to test ride one first and see if it talks to you. Trust us... they do.

Also, make sure to also set aside some budget for a good helmet and proper riding gear.

If at any point you feel confused about which one to go for, you can post a query in the 'What Bike' section (Link below)

Having tough time selecting a bike and looking for experts opinion? Then this is the place for you...

    Keep riding and ride safe.

        Hey TVS Krishna,
Try to stick to as new as possible Bike according to your budget, it will give you more piece of mind in terms of warranty, Insurance and Maintenance. It is advisable to buy RTR 160.

Better get a new bike though you have to extend your budget by 25%, you could go for either Honda X-blade, Hero extreme 160, Pulsar 160 NS, Apache 1604v.
I would suggest not to buy any used bike which is out of production.

Yeah thanks bro....but honestly i dont like the newer designs....also they're too pricey for my usage....

Thank you all for such kind messages. I'm still open to offers from Hyderabad. If any moderators come across this post, is there any section of this site that leads to used bikes? Also, i'm definitely looking for offers around 30k. I can't trust these 2nd hand vehicle websites such as droom etc (they don't show if the vehicle has been sold or not). Please do leave me any offers here (only if anyone is selling their rides.)

Okay. Thank you all for replies. So I am in a big dilemma right now. I am HELL BENT on restoring a motorcycle, also I wanna be the owner of a brand spanking-new motorcycle. Meanwhile, my dad says to buy the new one first, and later on, down the line, you can restore what you want. So, should I go for the new one first and do the restorations later? Or do it vice Versa?
