So, moving on to the customary "a bit about myself" - I left India as a 17 year old to study medicine in Ukraine. I started riding at the age of 12. I learned to ride on my dad's Suzuku Samurai and continued riding it (illegally, of course) until I left the country. Several mishaps and misadventures awaited me in Ukraine and most importantly, I didn't ride much over these years. About two years ago, I discovered that I could rent a Dominar in Kiev and made it a point to get my hands on one whenever I was there. Nevertheless, motorcycling wasn't a part of my life in any significant way for these 10 years.
I returned to India a couple of months ago. I got my first well-paid earlier last year. My university life was nothing sort of a minefield and for the longest time, I didn't see an end in sight. I was stuck, and for everybody's sake, I'm not going to get into the grisly details.
However, when stuff started turning around for me in mid-2019, I finally started seeing the end of the tunnel (i.e. graduation). At the end of last year, I had a Eureka moment when I realised that I was already earning enough money to buy a motorcycle - a nice one! See, I was stuck in such a hellish life back there that finally when I started earning decently, I had to put out a lot of fires. Growing up, we never really had much money and when I realised that I could finish, go back home and buy a nice bike, it was stupidly exciting for me.
For months on end, I glutted on motorcycle videos and vlogs and ran my friends' (Non-bikers) patience to the ground and more. I only really considered getting a dominar or an Interceptor. Again, without getting painfully into the details, I graduated and came back home to India with a degree and a semblance of financial freedom, for the first time. the first week I came back, I took a test ride of the Interceptor, and once I did, there was no going back. I've always loved riding the dominar and I've had several great moments with it, but the InT 650, somehow was the stuff of dreams for me.
Fast forward almost exactly a month, and I take delivery of my precious, long awaited Mark three interceptor. This was just about 2 weeks ago. I've already done about 800 kms on it (first service has been completed).
Needless to say, I've been beyond obsessive about my bike and motorcycles in general and now that I'm entering this world in earnest for the first time, I'm burning with a million questions that I hope to educate myself on. You guys can expect a lot of annoying questions from my side, some of which could be downright stupid and primarily aimed at assuaging my paranoia and obsession over my baby.
I'm super chuffed to be a part of this lovely community and I hope I can contribute somehow, even though I'm not the most experienced or knowledgable in this area.
