This is my first post in the forum, please bare with my small mistakes.
I will try to put up my short review owning Suzuki Gixxer 155.
Starting with my previous rides.
1) Hero Honda Super Splendor: We are still owning it actually its my fathers ride but all maintenance is looked by me. Genuinely a gem of engine its 14 years and no plans to sell it.
2) Hero Ignotor: Got my first bike (Dad's Gift) duty travel to collage. Its a nice bike but would struggle to keep above 50 kmph. 2012 to year 2017 it did the job perfectly and was sold in mid 2017 was lucky to find one of my friends garage , and the search for new bike begins.
3) Aprilia 150SR : We had a bike and car in our garage and the two wheeler market was all about scooters during those days. my Father, Mother & loving sister where sold for Activa but i has something else in my mind. So searched and shortlisted Suzuki Access , Aprilia 150 SR. Finally made my mind on Aprillia 150SR liked the scooters look took test drive and got one home on my birthday march 2017. Still mind had some other plans, but the need of scooter in family made me buy this. Spend few months with it and daily commute to office was not so easy with the stiff suspension of my scooter for 35km one way. Its has covered 20k till now but no major issues.Currently in sisters custody for her daily commute to office.
4) Loved Suzuki Gixxer: and november 2017 i got a call from my friend that a Suzuki dealer is offering 30% discount on brand new Gixxer & Gixxer SF. I rushed to the dealer and had a look at bike and within no time i paid the booking amount. The deal was to justify the need of one more bike within the year of purchasing Aprillia 150.
after concluding that the scooter can be used by my sister and dad for short rides in market and i will use the bike for office commute. Within a week of time i made payment and got home the Beauty. The begin of love story.....
likes:
- Stylish, looks fresh, absolutely fresh even after 3 years.
- Light weight and handling makes it perfect daily commuter.
- 155cc engine is super smooth after Motul 7100 4t 10W50.
- Average 50-55 kmpl as per my 50-50% highway and local rides.
Dislikes:
- Finding a reliable Suzuki service centre.
- Gear shifting at slow speeds (Bit Hard).
- Availability of spares in local market. (You can find in service centers but not locally)
Till today it has covered 37k on odometer and i just love getting it on highways. Daily commute to office is always exciting with my Bike. Lucky enough to not have a breakdown as of now. So far had covered 300km in a day only could feel the hard seats hurting bums. Its comfortable at high speed , in city and also on broken roads.
Regular services will cost around 1-1.5k with full synthetic oil. Service at 4,000-4,500 km intervals to my kind of riding. I usually ride between 60-70 kmph
which is sweet spot of Gixxer i feel, changes gears between 3.5 to 4 rpm. This should give any rider a whooping 50-55kmpl which is superb for the naked bike with 150cc and 13.6ps on tap. Major expenses where made at 30 to 32k km details you can check.1) Chain Set : 1400/-
2) Front Tyre: 1800/- (MRF Masseter 100/80/17) feels more stable on wet roads.
3) Rear Tyre : 3200/- (Apollo Alpha S1 140/60/17)
4) Both Break Pad: 800/-
Total of 8k with labor should be good to go for another 30k km. Overall satisfied and justifies expenses after 30k km. Overall satisfied and justifies the expenses after 30k km. I intend to take it to the magical figure on Odo 1,##,### hope my partner allow me to. Sharing some pics of my ride. Always love what you ride.......
Wishing every one safe happy mile munching.
Thanks
