    tranquility at last!!...

    hey guys..this is Satish from Vellore, Tamilnadu..I'm a Mechanical engineer.. finished my graduation from vellore institute of technology....

    my rides-
    1)1986 Suzuki AX 100R
    2)1997 Kawasaki bajaj Caliber
    3)2006 TVS Apache

    my hobbies-(which i do everyday)
    1)gym workouts
    2)swimming
    3)Jogging
    4)basketball
    (basically i have way too much time these days to do all these things everyday )
    I bought my Apache when i was in my first year of college..made a lot of trips on my bike with my close pal in college..

    Long trips done so far-
    1)Vellore-Elagiri hills-vellore (atleast once a month)
    2)Vellore-chennai-vellore (atleast 20 times)
    3)Vellore-arcot-vandavasi-tindivanam-pondy-chunnamber beach(once)
    4)Vellore-arni-gingee-tindivanam-pondy-auroville(once)
    5)Vellore-kanchipuram-chengalpet-ECR-mahaballipuram-(5 times)
    6)Vellore-javadi hills-kavalur solar observatory-vellore(once)

    short trips-(within 30 kms from home)
    1)rides to amirthi forest
    2)Palamathi hills
    3)Chitoor
    4)Arcot/ranipet

    About my home town Vellore-
    My sincere advice to Xbhpians in north tamilnadu and south AP...pls visit my home town..its a wonderful place.....Vellore is basically a large town( dist.capital) sorrounded by hills...the place is very hot during summer(43 C) and reasonably cold in winter(15-18 C)....
    Places of Interest-
    1) Vellore Fort and Jalagandeswarar temple in the fort permises
    2) Palamathi hills (only 3 kms from my house)
    3) Amirthi forest and mini zoo( 35 kms)
    4) Javadi hills and kavalur solar observatory(70 kms) ultimate forest ride
    5) Sripuram Golden Temple(5 kms)
    6)Chitoor BANS (40 kms)

    Best time to visit- After monsoons.

        Good intro thread with nice pics... welcome aboard brother.... well before you enjoy your riding here at xbhp...would prefer your riding pics with a proper helmet atleast....so buy one and always wear one while riding...... cheers

              well, i do have a nice VEGA helmet...other than that i don't have any other riding Accessories....and all the places in those pics are barely a few kilometers(3-25kms) away from my home..so i just about manage with my helmet..on long rides, i do wear a bandana inside my helmet and riding gloves(a cheap one).....
              ok let me just explain a few things first....about my background
              My parents still have no clue that i do a lot of bike trips outside my town.. on the day of the ride, i leave home just as usual like i'm going to college and come back by night..latest by 10pm like am just coming back from college and i got caught up wid some academic work...
              so you can imagine about how i manage my expenses..if i want to make a trip, for ex Pondy, i gotta plan it out atleast 2 weeks in advance and start saving up..and the bulk of the expense will go on fuel...but its that passion for riding my bike that makes me do crazy things to make it possible...
              i can very openly classify myself as a touring oriented biker..(so many times i have wished i got a ZMA for this very reason)..

              so buying these riding gears was a very big deal for me when i was a student...now that am joining for work in August, i will have the liberty to buy all the necessary riding gears, or even a new ride!!..

                Doesnt matter how far da, u have to wear a helmet. And i know how vellore highway traffic is

                  My dad still wonders how i managed to ride 54k kms in 3 years just by riding my bike from home to college and back..whenever he asks me how i've clocked so many kms on my Odo, i just give a wide stupid grin and he will get annoyed wid me and walk away...
